I LOVE these mid-cut boots! I bought a pair of Forsake's Patch hiking boots with a higher cuff a few months ago and I had such a good experience with them that I decided to try the Lucie Mid for everyday and I they have exceeded my expectations. They are so well made - sturdy stitching, padding/support in all the right areas! The laces provide the adjustability so they can fit my very narrow feet and I was able to break them in easily. For a mid, there is surprisingly strong ankle support. I ordered the normal size I wear (8.5) and there is the perfect amount of extra room for thick hiking socks. Also there is a year warranty on them so that really puts me at ease. Finally hiking boots that are so cute I want to wear them everyday!
Great mix between an everyday shoe and hiking boot. The attractive style of the shoe makes them easy to transition from the trails to the city streets. The high ankle makes it easy for slim fitting pants to fit inside. I have worn them a few times on day trips out of the city and they remained comfortable after walking and exploring. Good support, warm and waterproof!
Great looking sneaker/boot. Received several compliments on them. The downside was they were very uncomfortable out of the box - stiff and just not the right shape for my foot. I toughed it out and broke them in. Now they are not exactly a pleasure to wear but are tolerably comfy.
It says WATERPROOF And they are NOT. If you want to look stylish it’s OK, but if you want them for walking, go with a different brand and option. I used them today and my feet were all wet soaked in water. The shoe is completely new I have used them 3 days. First day I had blisters and That didn’t happened to me with my merrell with the same hiking socks, day 2 issues with the traction very slippery and today, day 3 after 30 minutes of walking in the rain my feet were absolutely WET. They are heavy, very low traction. Stylish though. I saved money for a new pair of waterprook walking shoes and decided to invest a LOT of money On this ones to support the domestic brand and I really liked the story behind the company, supposedly based on experience; so I decided to trust and support the cause. The shoes are pretty but definitely not waterproof and low traction, not for hiking or walking in wet conditions. My 2 main purposes.
They look stylish. Very good quality material. However, the inner seams are rough and therefore my feet felt it. I returned them because I could not walk in them.
First, like most hiking boots, I needed half a size up (I wear a 6.5 in most casual shoes but a 7 with these). That gives me room for thick socks, but I can wear thinner socks too since the laces allow for adjustment.I saw someone wearing this brand some months ago and loved the low heel. I am not a true minimalist-footwear person, but I try to wear shoes that don’t have much of a drop from heel to toe, and most hiking shoes have clunky heels, which make me feel so unstable when I’m walking downhill. And that style is just heavy and ugly IMO. These do not have that at all. I also don’t lace them up all the way, so my ankle can move more freely. I feel like I’m wearing a shoe more than a boot, and that’s exactly what I wanted.I live in the Pacific Northwest, so several months of the year, it’s just kind of wet outside. I wear these boots on neighborhood walks and short forest hikes with my son. I can walk through puddles and along the shore and through snow with no problems; they do seem to be waterproof as advertised. They aren’t particularly warm, which I appreciate because they’re all-season, so I’ll get more use out of them. They also aren’t cushioned, so longer walks on pavement aren’t super comfortable. Again, that doesn’t bother me, but it might be something to consider.I bought the burgundy color, although I’d say it’s more brown than burgundy. I’d have preferred them to be a little more red, but they were at a discounted price, so no complaints really.Overall, if you’re looking for something that’ll protect you from the elements on an everyday basis without the bulk of heavy-duty hiking boots, these are excellent.
These shoes look great, but they are not waterproof which was stated in the description. The insole is also not very comfortable for hikes. I replaced with store bought insoles.
Bought these boots for a trip with lots of walking, and I didn’t even have to break them in. Often when I buy shoes or boots, the toe box is too narrow, but not these. I wasn’t really expecting to wear them when I got home from the trip, but I’ve worn them a lot. They look nicer than most walking/hiking boots — the dark leather panel on the back of the shoe gives them a nice stylish touch.
