My husband needed some new dress shoes and I saw these and know Florsheim is a quality brand, so I thought I’d give them a try. He loves them. The fit is nice, easy to slip on and off, and the leather is good quality so it molds to his feet. The soles are great too, give some traction. These will last awhile.
The leather used on the upper looks premium. The insole of the shoe delivers the necessary levels of cushioning comfort, stability and dependable traction. The sole does exceptionally well on most surfaces, and is impervious to the changes in ambient temperatures. Prolonged exposure to heat and moisture often causes certain types of sole material to weaken and to stiffen during freezing temperatures, but these hold up very well in these environments. The sole is very firm and doesn’t compress when stepped on. This is an ultra-stable shoe even for heavy users. The shoe feels very solid-footed and planted, without any of that rocking motion during walking. The forefoot bends easily and needs no time to break-in. The forefoot makes activities like walking and climbing steps comfortable. The outsole grips extremely well, be it on smooth floors or wet sidewalks. The removable insole is extremely comfortable. The insole has a supportive rear section and a softer top layer. The upper is comfortable and accommodating without hot spots. The shoe has an overall spacious fit and a true-to-size feel. Finally, the visual appeal is quite evident as soon as you open the box.

After putting them on, the first thing I noticed is the amount of cushion provided in the sole is excellent. These shoes are fine for all day wear around the office without your feet getting tired. The front cap offers enough space that your toes do not feel restrained. The size is accurate and the cognac color I selected was very well represented in the listing.

These are extremely well made dress shoes, which is to be expected from a manufacturer with Florsheim’s reputation. Since there are so many companies out there that lose sight of their original quality goals after this long, it’s nice to know that some still put the customer’s user experience above all else. You can immediately tell, just from pulling them from the box, that the quality of the materials used and every stitch placed was meticulously thought out and considered. The size 11’s I ordered slip on comfortably, have a generous toe area, and the width is perhaps a touch wide for a medium width but not overly so (which is a good thing for slip-on’s anyway). The soles have a nice grippy feel due to the rubber center area of the sole but the outer edges make these appear to be all-leather dress soles…basically, you get the best of both worlds. These are high quality, eye-catching shoes that give you exactly what you’re expecting from a shoemaker like Florsheim. These are worth every penny and absolutely worthy of a solid five stars.
