Excellent shoes. This particular model a decades-old proven design that works particularly well for smaller feet.Came just a tiny bit on the narrow side (I bought 6.5 regular, when my perfect size is 6.5 E - 'wider'). Fixed that by fitting them cedar shoe trees modified to stretch the shoes a bit (inserted s clothespin so they remain wide at the toes). After that, they fit like a literal glove and are not just elegant, but very comfortable for walking short distances. They do demand shoe horns when putting them on, but so does all fine leather loafers / moccasins that you want to preserve in good shape for years on end.
I bought these for my husband because I liked the style, and also remembering that Florsheim is known for making shoes with exceptional fit, even for those with odd shoe sizes. I asked dear hubby what his actual foot size is, since he always has to buy a larger or smaller size in the stores because no one carries his particular size. He told me, but was skeptical that an on-line purchase would be successful. When the shoes arrived, he tried them on and walked off with them. Later, I asked how they fit. A man of few words, he replied, "Like a glove." These are the finest shoes (outside of some really great cowboy boots) that he has had since we were married (30 years). They look fabulous whether at church, a social event, or shopping at Home Depot. We will be back for more!
I have petty much always worn Florsheim shoes. I ordered these as an older pair I own started to show signs of "fatigue". This shoe is well made and as I have not had a chance to wear them a lot, they're still a little "stiff". The main thing I need to say is that when you first put them on, BE CAREFUL. The soles on these shoes are highly polished and very slippery, especially if you're on a carpet. They would be great if you decided to dance the Electric Slide. I would recommend roughing them up with a little sand paper or putting them on and then scuffing them on the sidewalk or driveway before wearing them or you may be embarking on a dangerous mission.
Please keep these shoes. They are the best shoes ever.
the shoe fits good at the front but atthe back the heel is a little bit to wideThe florsheim Como Flat Strap 9.5 D fits good at the front (the lengt of the shoe) when you walk it out, but at the heel/ankle it is a little bit to wide. It"s better then the florsheim milano 9.5 D the front is to short for a 9.5 D. All 9.5 D should be fitting the same in inches and they are not.
This a good shoe for everyday wear. This is my third pair. First pair lasted for years, second pair lasted about a month before the soul wore through, just started wearing this third pair. The souls on the second pair looked more like cardboard than leather. I'll let you know how this latest pair wear.
The shoes fit great. I have worn them about 10 times since I purchased them in 6/2017 and I can't believe the right sole has separated from the shoe. This is not the quality the name Florsheim stood for and at $109.00 I am very angry that such a defective product would ever leave the factory. I am guessing they will tell me tough but I am going to take pictures and add them to this review and send them to the company. No way should this have ever happened.Since my original review I have added some pictures so you can see how little the shoes have been worn. I did fix them with gorilla glue and will see how they hold up. If you have a problem like this go to utube and you can see how to fix them.
These Florsheim Loafers are the best! Even though they are no longer made in the U.S.A. I have tried dozens of alternatives and they just don't match these for fit, wear, comfort and style. The materials and workmanship are second to none as well. The soles usually last the better part of the year, even with my excessive walking. The upper part of the shoe always lasts long enough for at least one "re-sole" at my local cobbler. And talk about value... you just can't beat the price. Comparable shoes would cost around five times more at a custom shop!
