I've been a field biologist for 21 years, and I've worn about all types of boot over the course of my work throughout Florida for the last 14 years, 6 before that in the south-central Ozark region in Missouri, and a few trips abroad. In my first 5 years I tried 7 different brands of boot - that stopped when I tried my first pair of Ecco's Men's Track II Gore-Tex boot, and I've never looked back.I've only owned 3 pair since 1995, when I first learned of Ecco; when fitted correctly, this boot feels as close to a slipper as a boot can, and I've only gotten slight blisters a few times, mostly due to ovewear rather than product design. It has been subjected to dry, 100 degree days in uplands or wetlands, pushed through dense vegetation and gets snagged all the time...yet the shoes just stand the test day in and day out.I can't say enought about this model boot - it's the only serious field boot for me working in the SE Coastal Plain as well as the prairies and the rugged and rocky landscape of the Missouri & Arkansas Ozarks. I don't need another boot. Snake boots...na; 9" mid-calf boots..na.I could go on and on. But if you spend a serious amount of out of doors or around brush and debris, if not field work, the boot is worthy of every penny. I hand wash and oil my boots twice a year and then just knock off the mud or dirt from the boots and rinse them with a hose and let the air dry in the shade. Follow that simple cleaning routine and a pair of Ecco Track II boots will give you many years of great service. Those of us who work in a certain job so we can be in the field (the definition of field bioligist to me) make our money with our feet, and spending a bit extra on a shoe that is hand-stiched in Europe and is a great design find it worth the extra money.Keep up the great work! This boot is truly one of a kind.
Usually can't go wrong with this brand. I have a problem with my left foot so I do need to use an arch support for additional comfort and to reduce pressure on the ball of my foot. I don't find this fault with the boots. i have not hunted in them yet, so, i can give a better review after hunting season.
My husband has been wearing these for work for years. They're pricey, but it you have to stand on your feet working out in the field or walk for several miles, they are worth the money. They are not stiff, steel reinforced boots, so they may not serve every purpose, but they will be your go-to work boots if you can swing the cash.
Previous similar shoe I had bought earlier was made in Portugal or Denmark. This one was made in Slovakia and a bit lower quality and workmanship.
I've been wearing these boots for over 20 years now. Not the same pair, mind you, just the same brand, style & size. I get a new pair every 4 years, or so. Clearly, I just love 'em!
Disappointed. Lacks the comfort of the older model from 4-5 years ago. The tongue is no longer leather and padded but is unpadded canvas. Color of tongue is black but the shoe is brown. They raised the price but cheapened the boot.
My husband has been wearing this same model ECCO boot for many years (probably 15). It has great support, looks good, is lightweight, and typically holds up well. The last time we ordered this boot was in May, 2017 and we are already having to replace it. The previous pair was ordered in August of 2015 and typically they have lasted close to 2 years. We are wondering if there has been a change in the manufacture of this boot that has caused it to break down in less than a year and if this is what we can expect. If so, we will search for another brand as the cost is expensive for them not to last any longer than 10 months. May.be the last pair was a "lemon". We are trying them one more time.
Best everyday boot for my high-arch, orthotic-needing CMT foot. Have purchased several pair of this exact model for 20+ years. The latest soles are more durable (they used to deteriorate inexplicably). Superior for taking out insoles and inserting other insoles like custom orthotics.
