I am a dedicated ECCO customer. These shoes have all of the things I need when I go hiking. I am used to putting on a brand new pair and have them fit comfortably right out of the box. This pair however had a two day break in period but thereafter was perfect. I initially had an issue where the tongue was doubled up against the inside of the shoe. It was pushing up against he bottom of my ankle on both the inside & outside. I had to work it back and forth to make the fold smaller. After a couple days, I have had no further issues. I wear a 9.5 and this 43 fit in both the width & length.
The best all-around walking, light hiking, casual shoe I've owned... and I've tried them all over the last ten years. Keep coming back to Ecco's and are never disappointed. Not cheap, but these shoes last longer than any others. The soles hold up well after miles of pavement walking and the heel cushion does not compress. The breathable Gore-Tex makes them perfect for cool weather 3-4 mile downtown walks at lunch, even in wetter weather.
I love these shoes. I just bought my 4th pair. They have good traction, are 100% waterproof and I wear them in the office and outside in wet grass when the dew is heavy or there are puddles from the rain
The shoe is well made. The tongue is attached, which will help with water resistance. Overall, the quality is good. The one complaint, and the reason for 4 stars, is that there is basically no cushion. These are like a work boot in their support. You will likely need an insert if you need any support.
Nice quality shoe, will buy again. My foot size US 7 to 7.5.
I was excited to find a weather resistant pair of relatively stylish hiking shoes for my commute. How disappointing that the materials seem on par with better shoes I've purchased at half the cost. I expected a more stable, robust product given the price, but these bad boys provide about as much support as my alcoholic mother.
Very good shoe, above average quality. Large toe-box, but very pricey. Worth $100, yes. >$100 nope.
