I have been searching for a comfortable shoe to replace my beloved Cobb Hill Dierdre. This shoe is it! In fact, it is a bit more stylish, just as comfy, less pricey, and perfect for everyday wear. I love the heal height and the non-slip soles! I’m planning to purchase another pair that is similar, but with a metal embellishment. I will write an update if anything changes.
I’m 49 and I’m soooo happy to see these shoes and flare leg pants back in style! It takes me back to the early 2000’s when I dressed like Lorelai Gilmore and was living my best life! Outside of that, the shoes fit great and are comfortable. I wear a 7 or 7.5. I ordered a 7.5 and they slipped off of my heels. I ordered the 7 and they were a little tight. Since they are leather I figured they would stretch out a little and they did. BUY THE SHOES
This is a very nice shoe, as I received it. I checked carefully for loose parts and strings, etc...as noted by other reviewers and the shoes are immaculate. My issue thus far is that they seem to be just a hair small for the size. They are real leather, and I realize they will need breaking in, as all solid leather shoes or boots do. I got my usual 9.5 (which I can wear in almost every shoe, including Nike, which runs narrow). These seem to be about a 1/4 of a size small. The left one feels snug, but perfect, the right one is just a smidge tight on my big toe and bends awkwardly such that I don't want to wear them long enough to break in. I wear them around the house and they are incredibly supportive and have plenty of density underneath, which is exactly what I was looking for.I plan to continue to wear them around the house and then for short times out until they break in and I will update and upgrade if warranted.
Love these shoes. Only problem that I see after having worn them for 12+ hours working in a doctors office is that at times the balls of my feet would ache. I have also noticed that the back of the show will often rub the back of my achilles/heel making my heel/achilles a little sore. But this may be due to the shoe being slightly too big for my feet (Ever since I had children I have had a difficult time finding shoes that fit perfectly) and the fact that I wear thin socks! Great traction on the bottom of the shoes, especially with living in snowy upstate ny! Fashionable enough to wear daily wearing dress pants and top and casual enough to wear with jeans and a tshirt. Easy slip on, slip off shoes which is what I wanted...we don't wear shoes in our home so I needed a pair that I could easily slip on and off. I have worn these for about a month or so and they still look just as good as the day I took them out of the box even after wearing them daily for 12+ hours and walking through snow and road salt!
I could never even squeeze my toe in these. SOO small. They were very cute and well made however. I had to return. :(
I absolutely love these shoes. They are so comfortable and the quality of the leather is beautiful. I have not worn them for a full day at a time yet but so far they are awesome. The price was great compared to similar products from other sellers. Might need to get them in brown.
70 years of buying shoes and this is the first pair that the right shoe is loose and slips off and the left shoe is extremely tight. Both say 7m made in China--perhaps "made is China" explains why the manufacturing is so bad. There's no way quality control could have missed this big a difference. In other words--no quality control at Eastland.
First- let me say after reading the reviews- I wasn't sure what I would get- some claimed they got shoes all scratched up. It was a gamble on the size as well. - The shoes I received were pristine in condition- no scratches, gouges, etc. Very nice. Beautiful color. This feels like the quality that I've had in an Eastland over 20 yrs ago! I was surprised by the quality because it seems all the good brands have compromised their quality. No glue blobs, no stitching loops exposed, this appears to be a very well made shoe. I even took the insole out and it's very trim and cleanly constructed on the inside too.-Sizing- this is always a gamble-I normally wear a size 10. I have wide feet. I generally get rubbing on top of my foot if the ball of my foot is too tight in a shoe width wise. I was worried the 10s would be too narrow there and uncomfortable. As far as my sizing goes- for comparison- I never have luck with a dress shoe from Naturalizer or Clarks- all those cute narrow footed shoes, sometimes an Aerosole if it's wide and an open back- same goes for the store brands from Fred Meyer or Kohl's. But I can wear a size 10 Sperry casual (go figure). Based on my experience with other dress shoes and some of the reviews- I chose to go up to an 11. IF there had been a 10.5 - these would be 100% perfect. The 11s are just a skosh too big- but nothing a thicker sock won't fix. They don't pull off my heel and there is plenty of room in the toe box and ball of my foot area.My foot is not sliding around or shifting or any odd rub areas. I'm not really a hose stocking person so the larger size made sense. To me- a too small shoe is miserable and ends up making my back hurt and while I do think these would have stretched to fit- I can't stand breaking in leather shoes. It's annoying. Although in all fairness I think breaking in a true quality leather shoe should not be confused with all the "manmade" crap that is out there- so who knows? I'm happy with the size I chose.- These look nice- the heel and slightly chunky sole are modern without a total throwback to the overly chunky shoes the late 90's and early 2000's. The heel height is doable and realistic. I have short legs for being tall and this helps my hemline on pants.- I will currently give these 5 stars- this is a very well made shoe. How it wears and if it lasts longer than 6 months will be the next test.- I will gladly call this a classic loafer from a quality shoe maker that has transcended time. :D
