After years of being a die-hard Sperry guy. I tried a pair of Dunham Captain boat shoes summer '17. They were more than I wanted to spend. They have great support - like an athletic shoe! and high quality construction. These Waterfords usually sell for about $160 - like the sperry "Gold Cup" series, which are also fully deerskin lined. When these appeared in my size for $72, I took a shot and am delighted. They are better made and have better support than the Sperry Golds at any price!OK , I need to add to this review. I have worn these a good bit over 4 months now. Only downfall of these shoes is that they have become loose with age. Since they do not have laces, you can not snug them up. I can only wear them with thick socks now. I tried some insoles (which is a shame to do to deerskin lined shoes) and they were too snug. I can no longer run at all in them without falling off. They look great still though.
They fit the way they should. Good fit and feel, even with my right foot hammer toe. I will be buying another pair from this manufacturer. They will be used as an in the house shoe instead of slippers and as a short trip outside shoe walk our dog etc.

I have several pairs of the Captain model and these fit ust as well, extremely soft and comfortable.
Shoe labelled 13 4E extra wide but it is not. So the sizing was way off. Based on my experience this was a D width. On the positive side, the leather is quality and the construction is tops. I would give it a 5 star if it was the right fit. If you dont need a wide shoe this is a fantastic option.
These are nice shoes at a nice price. My son wears a size 18 and these actually came in his size! But here is the kicker-- they were too big! That has NEVER happened! All of his shoes are size 18 and fit perfect. We will be re-ordering in a size 17.
