the reviewer complaining about the loud squeak with every step wasn’t kidding! i spent a whole week thinking it just needed broken in but that’s def not the case. to fix it and depending on how badly you liked the shoe like i did, you want to lubricate it, if you will. coconut oil or vaseline works just fine; i used the dr. martens wonder basalm because that’s what i had on hand. it took a minute to figure out where the squeaking was coming from but for me, it was the top of the shoe under the strip of fabric. for good measure i also lubricated it all along the inside and put baby powder under the insole too (because that’s what the internet told me to do for squeaky shoes)..i was so adamant about fixing the squeak because i LOVE these shoes. i have a minimalist, librarian aesthetic and these shoes are *chef’s kiss* when it comes to the comfort and color.
These are very comfortable shoes, I was so excited because I really liked them but they have two big issues: 1) they have a horrible sound while walking, so annoying, every single step and 2) even when your feet don't usually sweat, with these shoes they will. Such a shame because now I'm reluctant to use them because of this. It's not only annoying but also embarrasing walking with this noise all the time.
Worst shoe I ever purchased! If I didn't wear them and they got rained upon I would have sent them back!!! The backs of the shoes are NOT level!!! One is higher than the other and cuts into the back of my ankle! Wonder if this was a defeated pair of shoes?????
