My wife bought these and wore them as we walked all over Paris. She said that they were very comfortable. There was a short break-in as it they rubbed her pinky toe but it was fine after she wore them a few times and she has freakish feet. Because of the way they tie there is no rubbing on the heel. They are the typical excellent quality that one expects from Doc Martin. They look great and she loves them. Buy them. You want to be cool don't you? All the cool kids have them. Piercings are not required to wear them.
I expected to hate these. I really did but I love them. I’m a big girl, 2X, and these fit great. I had to size down as seems usual for me with Dr. Martens, and these were no different. Got a size 9 and they fit great. The laces are comfortable as long as you don’t tie them too tightly. I also noticed that you have to make sure to tighten around the toes for your foot otherwise they feel weird. These are the most comfortable lace up sandals I’ve had. I had Sanuk’s before and they were adorable but so painful after a few hours whereas I’ve been able to go half the day in these with lots of waking and no issue other. The boot platform really helps with feeling away from the ground because I hate feeling like I’m walking barefoot. These feel like you have something on your feet. That’s not a problem for me, but a preference.
These are worth the sale price at $45. They do make the summer sandal slapping sound as you walk...unless you wear socks. I'm wearing socks today, because it's still winter and these need to be broken in. The socks make them more comfortable. The stitching that rubs against the foot on the bottom of the straps is annoying without the socks. I placed pieces of duct tape on the underside of the straps which helped. I do want to wear them without the socks for summer. I hope they rub less after broken in, or I need to find another way to wear them comfortably without the socks.They do get five stars for cuteness. They are well made, add a couple inches and don't weigh my foot down. They're chunky without being too chunky. The left shoe feels like it has a little more arch support than the right...also a bit annoying. Should improve with breaking them in. Ordinarily, I don't keep shoes that feel much like they need breaking in. I want them completely comfortable immediately. I'll take a chance on these. They are too cute.
I wear a woman's size 8.5 shoe. I bought these in white size 8, they just fit. Im not sure if a 9 would be too big though. Im keeping the size 8. I have narrow feet, however these lace up sandals run very narrow already, almost too narrow I think. The foot cushioning is very good, so they will be comfortable to walk in. I cant see anywhere where it says if these are leather or not for the upper shoe part, for the price I am hoping these are real leather. They are well made.
These are my favorite summer in the city walking shoes! If you get the lacing just right they are pretty comfy! Too tight and they are easily not as comfy. I also stepped on a nail at some point and noticed days later when I went to pick what I thought was a rock off the bottom..🙃 that sucker was a good couple inches but I never felt it so I’m thankful these shoes saved my foot from that as it would’ve been really bad! I get a compliment every single time I wear them also! I’m a size 10 & got a 10! I would recommend getting your size because the lacing provided a little wiggle room and if it’s too big your foot will slide out and the laces won’t tie as cute and will probably be too close together lolThe front leather strap where the laces are sometimes rubs on my foot but hasn’t caused me issues and I could easily sand the leather probably to fix that I’m just lazy & it doesn’t bother me much.
