When it comes to comfort shoes, the Dansko Men's Wayne Black Full Grain 44 M sets a high standard. In terms of practicality, the slip-resistant rubber outsole makes navigating various surfaces a breeze, whether commuting or enjoying a leisurely stroll. This feature is particularly beneficial during wet conditions, providing peace of mind without sacrificing style.
However, one aspect to consider is the break-in period; some users have noted that while the shoe is comfortable, it may take a few wears to achieve the ideal fit. But once broken in, many find it hard to believe they ever wore anything else.

These shoes are amazing! I work in surgery and am routinely doing cases for 6+ hours straight, standing the whole time. They have amazing support and I never feel that my feet are hurting at the end of the day. I bought my first pair just about 10 years ago at this point and you can see the wear and tear in the images. They are still super comfortable and has loosened up to fit my foot perfectly. The only reason I bought new ones was because in the inside the sole has worn down to plastic that hurts a little bit but this just happened over the last year perhaps. They have gone through it all, rain, snow, and blood baths. They are also super easy to clean which is a must in surgery. I would definitely recommend these shoes for anyone standing for long hours and who is wanting something that lasts a long time! They are definitely heavy and took me about a week to get used to wearing but since I wear them everyday for many years now, it feels weird not wearing these shoes.
Best and most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. I have been a lifetime customer of Allen Edmonds. However, after being diagnosed with Type II diabetes, I needed a softer and more comfortable shoe. These shoes proved to be perfect. This is my fourth pair since 2010, in black and brown, and they have all performed great. The soles show almost no wear. Because I have a wide foot (EEE), the elastic pulled loose on two pairs. But, the local shoe shop repaired them for about $5.00. In fact, I still have 3 of the four pairs I bought, and rotate them in and out, depending on the weather. Every pair shines up nicely, and continues to fit well. The insoles get a little mushy after a few years. But, they remain relatively comfortable. I don't love the look. But, they are now part of me. I also like the 1.5" heel height. They put me well over 6' tall, which is an added benefit. Buy these shoes! They won't be around much longer.
While I normally wear a size 10 1/2, in loafers I have to move 1/2 size down to get a good fit. These Wayne Slip-On are almost a little too short, but they still work. I think a 44 would definitely be too loose. These shoes are very comfortable! I have plantar fasciitis and usually need to wear an insert in many shoes. The great thing about these shoes - they feel really good without the inserts.! They are very casual - perfect for business casual wear with a pair of chinos, or with jeans.
Great shoe. Very comfortable, seemed a little tight for the first week but they are great now. I'm a manager for a busy chain restaurant. Good all around traction, from kitchen to dusty entry way tile, carpet, and wet dish area tile these shoes grip well. Almost aa comfortable as the dansko clog with a much more professional look. And they polish up nice after a long day in the kitchen. These are my new go-to shoes. Will buy again. Holding up really well at 3 months now.
Cons: Unfortunately I had to return these shoes because my ankles were getting rubbed so badly that it was getting painful. I think it might have been due to the hard material and I did give it a few days to break in, but I just couldn’t stand the pain anymore.Pros: These do fit well otherwise! There’s plenty of room for foot expansion without falling off too much. The sole is Dansko’s signature sturdy rubber with all-terrain traction. They look nice enough for business casual, but also casual enough for jeans.
There is nothing wrong with the shoes. I just bought the wrong size for this type of shoe so, I sent them back and since my husband has big feet, I decided to not purchase this type of shoe again. But overall a great looking shoe!
I do not review items but I must for this. I work in the restaurant industry and I was looking for shoes to replace my $30 skechers that had lasted three years. Did ample research and decided these sounded perfect. They lasted... two months. The inside wall is now peeling and causing issues with my feet. Reaching out to amazon and dansko gets me nowhere. Please, do NOT buy these if you work if you work in a industry with lots of walking involved. I can no longer wear them due to the pain it is now causing me. I also saw many images of the soles coming apart (after ten year or so)... this started happening for me within the first month. For the price, just buy $30 skechers, they will last longer.
Wanted to wear them for a few weeks before leaving review. As previous people have mentioned before me, these are indeed great for your back and are extremely comfortable, just takes some breaking in, and the sizing is a bit strange but for me they were great with a little room for the toes, they have some solid weight but nothing you wont get used to. I stand a bunch so they work for me, but if you walk around alot i would be weary
