Great comfort and durability.

Update- I wore them out. Replaced the last week of February 2023. The soles are still good and nothing fell apart. They developed a hole at the top about 1" from where the steel tow ends and in the crease of the padded piece above the heel. Kind of a weird spot, but it is what it is. Good, comfortable work boot that i will still use for heavy yard work and home projects. They aren't trash, just retired from daily work boots. Can't post a retirement pic for some reason. I bumped it to 5 stars. They did what i needed them to do, in a comfortable way, and long enough to easily justify the cost. I've had more expensive for far less satisfaction. I highly recommend them if you're in the market.Good experience so far. With any work boot it takes quite awhile for a complete review. Only issue i have had was trying to use a different insole. It made the toe box much to tight. I had bought different work boots from Carhartt last year that i ended up giving to my son because even with the original insoles the toe box was way to tight. With these the toe box is fine with the original insole, but not with an aftermarket insole. The claim of waterproof is true as long as you know what that means. They kept my feet dry when submerged to the top of the boot. Don't expect ANY boot to be waterproof beyond where the tongue becomes separated from the rest of the boot. Once the tongue becomes separated from the shaft of the boot you lose waterproofing at that point. These boots maintained being waterproof up to the first eyelet on the shaft. The support and comfort with the original insole has been good so far. Durability will be discovered as they used and abused over time. My last boots were 8" Carolina's that had one of the heel pieces that wrap around the heel separate after a few months. I used instant Gorilla glue that actually held to this day. I wore those boots out before the glue quit holding the heel together. So far these boots are what I had hoped for. I will update this review to reflect long term durability and comfort as time goes on.

REAL work ready

I’ve been doing tree work for power company a lil over 5 years now. We are in ALL sorts terrain in every season. It gets rough to say the least and I’m always a very energetic go the extra mile worker. My last pair of these made it 3 years of nonstop miles of ROWs hills, creeks, mud, mangled limbs, logs, and more. So getting a fresh pair was no brainer. These are made for work. I seen the bad reviews about break in periods and weird lumps IDK mine were great right out the box like hell yeah! Great boot super happy.

Pretty Darn Good

Alright, I’ve been wearing these everyday for 5 months now. For reference I work 60-80hrs a week as a heavy equipment operator for a mining company. I bought these while in the midst of my company building a new processing plant and my Ariat boots just didn’t have enough ankle support and traction for all the climbing I’d been doing. The break-in period with these sucked. Real bad. However, once I got the leather relaxed and fitted to my foot, they were fantastic. They’re very comfortable, have fantastic grip, the composite toe works as expected, and given what they are, are pretty light. The only reason I'm giving 4 out of 5 stars is the waterproofing. They’re more like water resistant. That being said they’ve worn very well thus far, and should that trend continue, I will absolutely buy another pair.

Must have for Forestry workers

I used to be a Carolina fan boy for over a decade. I noticed my final few pairs, they started wearing down and falling apart quicker and quicker. I finally decided to try another logger, what did I have to lose? After much research I picked Carhartt. These are an amazing boot for forestry workers. I would not recommend them for a mechanic or any of the other commenters that complain of foot pain. The high heel is meant for in a tree [holding gaffs in place] and off-road applications. Do not wear these for factory work, mechanic work etc. Unless you want too, idrc. Just my .02.I generally replace boots after 1 year. I work for the local power company so I put many miles on my boots, in all weather conditions in the North East. 1yr in my boots is 3 to 5 in an average person's. I went 18 months with these, although I had a pair of pull-ons I'd wear some days in the winter, but these were easily on my feet 90-95% of my time. I couldn't have been happier. These are not 'steel toe' like some people say. They are a hardened toe, composite to be exact. You want composite if you plan to wear these in cold winter areas. I've worn steel before, and no matter what quality of wool socks you have on, the steel freezes and your toes will freeze next. My only upgrade I made, and it's nothing against the boots specifically-i do it to every pair of boots I ever buy- i replace the laces with 550 Paracord. Just buy a roll of whatever color you like, match the length to the included laces, cut to length. Lightly burn the ends to seal -dont touch it!- and presto. I promise those laces will never break under normal use. They won't dry rot. They won't wet rot. And they're probably twice as fat as standard boot laces, which for me is easier in my hands to tie tightly. I hope this review has helped. Thank you for reading it all. Stay safe.
