When it comes to performance footwear, the Capezio Women's 2" Student Footlight Character Shoe stands out thanks to its thoughtful design and high-quality craftsmanship. The first thing you'll notice is the luxurious full grain leather upper, which offers both flexibility and structure. The scored leather sole allows for smooth turns and transitions on stage.
The 2" heel strikes a perfect balance between providing elevation and maintaining stability. This feature is particularly important for dancers who require confidence in their footing as they perform intricate routines. The moisture-absorbent microfiber lining serves to wick away sweat, ensuring you stay comfortable even during extended practice sessions.
Comfort is key, and the foam-padded footbed paired with the Achilles notch enhances wearability, reducing the chance of chafing during long hours of rehearsal. The elegant leather buckle adds a stylish accent while ensuring a secure fit.
However, it is worth noting that some users have mentioned a slight break-in period, so do not be surprised if the shoes feel a bit stiff initially. Additionally, the recommendation to order a half-size up from your regular shoe size is crucial to avoid discomfort.
Overall, the Capezio Women's 2" Student Footlight Character Shoe is a fantastic option for any dancer looking to combine style with functionality. Whether you're performing in a recital or practicing for a competition, these shoes are likely to exceed your expectations.

These shoes are really great in every way, but due to the reviews I sized up--I normally wear either a 7.5 or 8, and my feet are slightly wide. I ordered an 8W. I had to return them for a 7.5 because they were just a tiny bit too long on my foot--but I'm going to stay with the W width which felt to me like a normal width so I would say these run a little narrow if anything.
I'm using these for my organ shoes.
Love Capezio. These were just too small.
I got these shoes for my Dance Classes, love them, great quality, perfect for all Ballroom, Jazz Dancing Classes
I am so disappointed! My daughter wore her shoes, maybe five times, and they broke during the final dress rehearsal. The musical she’s a part of starts tomorrow, and she suddenly has no shoes to wear. We have used the Capezio brand in the past for dance, and the products have been fine. But these… I have no idea what to say except that I don’t know where I’m going to find character shoes for her to wear by tomorrow night, when the musical debuts. Very disappointing and by these shoes breaking, we have been put in a very tight spot!
I wore these to work as a kind of dressy work shoe, but I wanted to be comfy too. I have a desk job as an auditor, so, I'm on my feet multiple times if I have to pick up paperwork or make copies or scan paperwork. They have surprisingly good arch support. They aren't as comfy as flats, but they are bearable. I would say they are most comfy pair of heels I have. My foot feels super secure in them as well. Plenty of room for my toes and I have a wide foot. I am 5'8" and 180-185lbs. I will definitely wear them again!
Great shoe, fits but pai full on the toes
