When it comes to ballet footwear, the Capezio Men's Canvas Romeo Ballet Shoe excels in numerous aspects. The flexibility is particularly noteworthy; the split-sole design with a patented diamond gusset allows for a natural range of motion, making it easy to perform even the most intricate footwork. This innovative feature sets it apart from other ballet shoes on the market.
The comfort level is also impressive. With its precision-trimmed forefoot padding, you can dance for hours without feeling discomfort. The moisture-absorbent lining ensures that your feet remain dry, which is essential for long dance sessions. If you're someone who has struggled with sweat-soaked shoes, this feature will be a game changer.
In terms of durability, while the canvas material is comfortable, it's worth noting that heavy usage may lead to wear over time. As such, if you’re a dancer who practices daily or more than several times a week, consider rotating between pairs to prolong their lifespan.
For anyone considering a new pair of ballet shoes, the Capezio Men's Canvas Romeo Ballet Shoe is definitely worth trying. The combination of quality materials, thoughtful design, and focus on dancer needs make it an excellent investment for both novice and seasoned dancers alike.

I ordered 1.5 sizes larger than my normal shoe size and still found them too tight. I had to stretch the toes for at least 15 minutes using the bar on my dip station to get into them and still they hurt my feet. I do wear socks. For the second pair that I ordered, I ordered 2.5 sizes larger. With socks, this pair required no stretching. Most men prefer to wear socks or footed tights so you will want to account for this when you order.
TLDR: These are extremely comparable to "Wearable-Wildlife-Paw-Pads", they feel almost exactly like the paw pads of a big dog or large cat or small bear; and they are probably comprably as durable as those, which means concrete and asphault will probably shred holes into these shoes, but I am pretty sure they could handle most "Natural" walking-surfaces perfectly fine - like I expect they would last most of a full summer being regularly used as beach/ocean/pool shoes, though you'd probably need to replace them every 2-3 months if you were brutal on them like that.I happened to discover this type of shoe while researching how to find casual ballet classes, but my appreciation of these ballet shoes is just of them as "walkin-around" shoes. If you're the type who hates wearing any kind of shoes ever, and only wear footwear begrudgingly in public for safety or if they are truly needed because of hazardous conditions - then you will LOVE these shoes. These are like if a pair of Converse Sneakers and some vibram toe-shoes fell in love and had numerous wonderful ballet slipper babies lmao! The padding on the bottom is very thin, but makes a surprisingly large amount of difference for helping to maintain balance (I have "Ataxi" issues, so things like standing on one foot can be difficult or impossible for me normally, but these shoes do a terrific job of ... it's hard to explain simply, but the shoes (especially the little pad-parts) really "lock" your foot in a great way.Kinda like "locking your knees" to stand upright when you're tired; or a really good foot-tape/wrap.Actually, that's a great way to describe these shoes: they are like slipping on a perfectly-wrapped "sports-medicine"-style ace-bandage-foot-wrap; meaning it's very snug, but it borders on almost be a "Cast" or brace it stiffens your foot so firmly (in a good way). These shoes DO NOT run small by the way - these shoes are essentially athletic or performance equipment for proper Dancers. So if you want them to be loose and just comfy house-shoes then yea size up.But not "Size-Up" because the are improperly labeled or sized; size-up because you are buying Athletic Equipment that is meant to compress and bind your foot! So of course they will feel tight lol!If you want them for support then order your real size.My right foot is about half to 1-size larger than my left root (due to inflammation from an ancient injury), so I ordered mine about half a size larger than my real size; the left shoe is a smidge loose and the right shoe is a smidge tight, but I know my feet extremely well and using my body as a reference point these shoes are nearly PERFECTLY sized (for their intended purpose as foot-binders).Although, Since these shoes are symetrical - there's is no reason whatsoever that I can't just order a second pair and wear 2 different sizes for a perfect fit on both feet, I always wanted to do that, but then I'd be wasting a whole mismatched pair of shoes, but since these shoes are symetrical and dirt-cheap there's no waste if you buy multiple different sizes since you can just wear the spare shoes once these wear out.I have another brand coming too in a few months that I can compare these to, I am DEFINITELY ordering more ballet shoes though! These things are awesome!
Good quality but order 1/2 size larger. A rad tight in the toes.
After reading tons of reviews I ordered 11 1/2 (I'm an 11 in men's shoes), it was like one of Cinderellas step sisters trying to shove her foot into the glass slipper. So I sent it back and ordered a 14W. It's loose but fits very well! So as far as size goes, I have no idea what's going on.Now I don't wear these for ballet. I'm in a wheelchair and when I go out I use a scooter. Since I have long legs it is extremely difficult to get my right leg past the middle part where the steering is and all as my right leg is pretty much dead. I cannot lift it at all. With regular shoes on it's impossible. I'm tired of going out in sock only feet so someone suggested these. Let me tell you, they work! They look like shoes but they are as flexible as my foot is so I can bend my toes as far as I need to so I can scoot my leg over enough to clear the tall post. To just get one small freedom like this is amazing. I'm so thankful someone suggested these. Nor just for ballet!!!
Son wears 8.5-9 in men's shoes. It wasn't clear if we should order men's or women's sizing, so we tried both. 9 was a little snug, 11 was way too big. So seems to be men's sizes but runs a little small. Great shoes at a good price.
The shoes are great. Love the brand. The only reason I gave 3 stars is the fit. Im a size 9 in street shoes and after reading the reviews decided to purchase a 10.5. They are almost ok and maybe after dancing in them they will stretch some. I tried misting alcohol on them and wearing them around the house for a bit but there is still pressure in the toe. I wish I would have bought an 11. Thats a full two size difference for me. They are also quite narrow. My foot is already narrow and I think I might have preferred the wide width. May be a consideration if you do now want to size up so much. I find returns frustrating, so Ill keep them as a backup but yeah...size up for sure.
These really help hard to heal feet get air to the injured area and protect the rest of the foot. Sandals were rubbing the sole of my feet raw.I bought these to trade off with a leather pair I had cut out a space for my toe after the toenail was removed and the doctor wanted it be in the open air as much as possible. A bonus is these can be washed.I can also cover the toe with gauge, or half of a shoe cover held in place by 3M Corban Wrap, Vetwrap or Dynarex Sensi Wrap. Wrapping just a bit of my foot or all the way up my leg over the shoe. These are one of the few shoes I can find that are large enough to fit.I will buy again as house shoes.
I ordered these shoes in size 13. They are 3" short. I live in a rural area so returns are difficult as most things in rural areas are very far apart. However back to the size. The difference is obvious. Almost painfully. I am sure that the person who sizes these was obviously INTOXICATED. Don't buy them !
