These boots are so well made and warm!
These boots are truly well made!! The 40 fits a size 9 perfectly, generous to allow for the wool lining. The calf at top is not too wide so it does not bag on narrow calves and the toe box is big enough to allow me to wear toe separators w metatarsal pads and not be too tight. Also, being high quality waterproof leather, it will stretch to conform to your foot over time. These are the kind of boots you can wear for a lifetime, fixing the soles in 20 years. They brown is a lovely true brown distressed, with a cordovan suede top. Just beautiful. Classy and understated.
Overall high quality boot. The sizing is suitable for people with bunions or wide feet without being too large. As others noted, the brown color leather shows crease marks the second you bend it, but heating the boot (with a blowdryer or sitting on a radiator) seems to permanently make it a little better. It is waterproof enough to be able to briefly stand in water to your ankles without getting wet or looking wet. The wool lining is warm, but the footbed is not insulated well enough from the rubber outsole. Cold still makes it through from the ground to your feet. I would not recommend this boot if you have poor circulation and need a lot of help to keep your feet warm. Otherwise, it's a great boot.
Great traction, warm, and versatile enough to be worn inside and out (no need to schlep an additional pair of shoes) with pants, skirts, or dresses.
I have these boots in clack and love them-except that a seam ripped within the first week so I had to have them repaired as I couldn't find them anywhere else. I thought it must be a fluke which is why I plucked down $239 for them in the rust color. The back seam ripped out the second time I wore them, all the way to the inner fluffy part. I'm shocked that these "waterproof" boots can't make it through a day at my indoor, dry, office. Really disappointed. and would. not recommend, returned and lesson learned
comfortable. extremely warm. beautiful.
I have been researching for days and hours on the perfect boot. I have been wearing Sorel's for so long, but the kind I wanted wasn't available anymore. I was going to get these boots from Overland that look similar to these but they were close to $500 and they didn't have my size 11's. If they did I wou;d have not even seen these b/c I would have bought them, crying b/c I didn't want to spend that much but those boots are fire. These boots look sooo much like the very expensive ones just not as intricate. More simple. Which is better, I mean the price difference is way worth it. I was scared with the sizing because my Sorel size 11's I could go with an 11.5 or 12Ok these boots are such good quality and the color is on point. Some people complain about the crease in the foot on the top of the boot, UMMM it's a rugged boot and I am pretty sure it is leather and it looks good! Also I didn't realize I could totally not wear socks because the fabric is so comfy all the way throughout the boot. My feet started getting hot since I wear these indoors all day lol so I know outside in the snow for long periods which I am not, they will be just fine. I can tell these will last some years. The fit is a roomy 11. Like perfection!!! you do not need to size up at all, I can see if I plan to wear them for fashion indoors I can wear lighter thin socks. I totally took a chance and now I am sold, I prob will buy more from their line if these are so awesome!Edit:I bought the boots January 2023, it is October 2023 now these boots are made very well. However the zipper on one got all messed up, I wear these boots winter and some of spring and fall. I will say, I wear them a lot when I do wear them. I will get the zipper repaired b/c I can't zip them all the way up and am scared if I get the zipper stuck and can't get them off! The rest of the boot is very sturdy considering I am pretty rough with my boots. Of course the inner lining that is white looks dirty pretty quick, but I expected that. I still would buy another pair.Edit1/17/2024I took the boots to a shoe repair place, 2 of them... and they can't repair them!!! I contacted thr company..maybe there is a warranty or they have a suggestion. So now I wear one of my boots not all the way zipped. It makes me feel messy. I was thinkng to buy another pair but I forgot what they cost.So I initially rated them a 5 star, then a 4 star...now a 3 star. Ugh. Maybe mine was just defective. I see it is important to check before buying certain boots if the company has a warranty.
This is the fifth boot I’ve purchased this winter in search of a warm, waterproof boot to take me through three trips to Europe this season. All the prior ones had issues with fit, quality or style. This boot is a keeper. While not shearling lined, it is lined with a good layer of high quality wool both in the shaft and foot, yet is roomy enough for a smartwool sock. The sole is a bit rugged for the city but looks like traction will be good, and the seams and leather quality are high standard. I’ve had good luck with wearability of shoes made in Portugal, and the style is fairly multipurpose, so I’ll keep these for sure.I wear a 38 in Birkenstock, aquitalia, and la canadienne, and this 38 runs true to size. There’s a small gore at the top which makes the shaft fit comfortably (my calf circumference is 14”)
