I’ve worn these shoes just a hand full of times and one of the stitches that holds the shoe together is coming untied. At this price point and for Born shoes which have always been good quality in the past I’m very disappointed. The seller refused to replace them even though they were obviously defective .Do not buy these from this company.
These shoes are extremely comfortable. Born is a good brand and their materials are excellent.
I had high hopes for these real leather shoes but since the 8 1/2s (my usual size) and 9s were too short in the store, I got these 9 1/2s online. They have no arch support and aren't really tall enough to add in an orthotic. Worse yet, the mediums are WIDE and these are more like 10s or longer. I put heel pads in the back but they're STILL too long and wide. The first time I tried wearing these shoes for a few hours (when they were VERY loose, without either thin inserts or the heel pad) I noticed that the stitching that keeps the tongue and the sides together had come undone. Great. So I tied them into a knot knowing they wouldn't stay) and sure enough they came undone again. The only way they will stay closed is if someone melts some plastic and drips it on them to lock the threads into place. They should have used thread that wasn't so slippery. These shoes look beautiful but are useless to me as is. Sad that quality control is so sloppy these days.
These shoes are comfy. However I wear them only occasionally and after a few wears the stitching on the top tongue area of the right shoe began to unravel. Of course it was past the return window, but the amount paid for these shoes I expected to get over a year of wear out of them. I wore them a few times in the spring when they were purchased then not at all during the warmer months. In October I wore them again, and noticed that the right shoe stitching was coming unraveled. Very disappointing in deed.
My usual size 7 was a perfect fit, as always with Born. I can wear these with or without socks in total comfort - ingrown toenails, callouses and bunions notwithstanding.
These shoes appear to be a very high quality and nice style. But I did not keep them as I just couldn't keep my heel from sliding. They might be a better fit for one who has a wider foot.
