vwey comfortable to walk with and has a nice cushion.
I've been looking for a slip-on that gave good support, was lightweight, and fit nicely. This shoe does all this. My foot size is 10.5 with a somewhat narrow heel, and 10.5 is the size I bought. The shoes were a bit tight at first (with midweight cotton socks), but after a day or so of wearing them, they stretched in the right places and became very comfortable with no slippage while walking. The sole is lightweight, has nice padding, and feels sturdy - they are great for indoor or outdoor wearing. The outer shoe leather is good looking, and resists scratching. The shoes are worth the price and are a good value.
The sole wore out and started coming loose after only 60 days of moderate wear. I contacted Born and they replaced them free, but they didn't have the Brompton in my size, so I had to choose a different shoe.
I really love these shoes. This is probably the fourth pair of Börn shoes in this style I’ve purchased. The styling is great for business casual work environments but more importantly, they are super comfortable.Did I mention this is my fourth pair???
Very comfortable slip on shoes. Good for business casual attire.
I have a pair of original Bramptons ( or a Born Loafer that is nearly identical to the Brompton 2 - Part Number M/W H11606 CQE13 ) that I have owned for 15 - 20 years. See Photo of the 15 - 20 year old Original. The soles are barely worn. The stretch web lost its elasticity and a teething puppy did not help matters. I am going to have a shoe repair shop try to restore them. Each shoe weighs 1.25 pounds. It has a substantial sole and is a well made shoe that is leather lined on most of the interior. The replacement ( Brompton 2 ) is a watered down version of the original. The new shoe only weighs 0.62 pounds each. One Half the Weight of the Original ! ! ! The sole is thin. You feel what you are stepping on. The interior is not leather lined. It is a cheaply made shoe that lacks the quality and comfort of the one it is replacing. I will not purchase another shoe from Born. The company evidently is being run by Bean Counters who are more interested in boosting profits than building a solid reputation for quality shoes.
My husband loves the shoes. This is his second pair of the same kind.
I love these shoes. Have worn them all around the world. When I am traveling I pack two pairs of Born Bromptons. Comfortable and unlike a couple of other reviews I have never had a problem with durability and mine have walked over some pretty rugged terrain. Will never be without a couple pairs of Born Bromptons.
