If you're a teacher or serious student looking for a quality dance shoe, the Bloch Women's Elastospllit Grecian Dance Shoe is a fantastic choice. The first thing you’ll notice is its stylish design that doesn’t compromise on functionality. The neoprene T-strap design effectively reduces pressure on the instep, making it ideal for those long teaching hours or practice sessions.
The inclusion of a 1-inch heel is a significant advantage, as it alleviates strain on the Achilles tendon and calf muscles, which can be particularly beneficial during extensive periods of standing or dancing. The elastic support system contributes to the shoe’s flexibility, allowing for a range of movement without sacrificing stability.
Moreover, the leather upper adds a touch of durability and class, while the suede outsole strikes a perfect balance between slip resistance and glide, making transitions smooth and effortless on various floor types. However, keep in mind that these shoes are best suited for indoor use given the nature of the suede material.
One potential drawback is the sizing; many users recommend going one full size up from your regular street shoe size to achieve the perfect fit. Those who might be hesitant about this might want to try them on in person or order carefully if purchasing online.

I wore these for a local production of Holiday Inn where I used them in five dance numbers. I have severe plantar fasciitis in one heel, so I was concerned this wouldn't be enough. My feet only started hurting during tech week when we ran the show 5x in practice and then each weekend evening, otherwise these held up really well. No scuffs or marks despite pulling them on and off constantly, either. The bottoms, of course, got somewhat dirty, but not in any way that would detract from using these again soon.
These fit true to street shoe size. They’re nice and flexible in the ball of the foot. The heel is a bit high so it took some breaking in for me. These are dire able and feel soft. They also give your foot a nice line while teaching.
I had surgery on my feet a few years ago, and unfortunately, I am no longer able to wear heels. I needed an alternative to character shoes, and I found these. Prior to my surgery, I wore 6.5 in Bloch shoes; however, they fit really snugly. I wore a 6.5 narrow in street shoes. Now I wear a 7 regular in street shoes, and I need more room in the toe, so I ordered a 7.5 for these. They actually fit snugly- but not uncomfortably- on my toes. However, the toe boxes are quite wide. This is fine, because my feet do swell sometimes, but I feel like the proportions are meant for people with wider feet and lower arches (mine are quite high).
I danced in these last night. I have been away from dance for several months due to an injury. Prior to last night, I either danced in bare feet or ballet slippers. My podiatrist told me to start wearing shoes that have a small heel in order to raise my arch. So I was nervous wearing these sheos on account of the tiny heel. I wore them and I don't know if it was my imagination but I actually felt more stable in them than ballet slippers or bare feet. It didn't even feel like I had anything on my feet. I felt so secure in these shoes that I think my turns and landings were stronger and more solid than before. I am thrilled with these shoes and am considering getting another in a different color.
I really like the quality of these shoes. I was skeptical when placing my order. However, when they arrived they surpassed my greatest expectation. I will definitely order this brand again.
Ordered a size up and these were pretty snug. The stretchy part ripped 3 days into rehearsal. Not good for wide feet.
I am a dance instructor and needed new ballet shoes but wanted something with a little more heel support. These shoes are comfortable and I love the elastosplit so you still get a pretty arch. I wear them to teach both ballet and jazz classes. I usually wear a street shoe size 6.5 and I ordered a size 7 in these and they fit great!
