I bought these for my daughter as a gift for her trip to Disney in December. She was counting on these Birks to be as awesome as her Birkenstock sandals. And they are! She is totally happy with the fit, comfort, and looks but was glad that she sized up due to most reviews stating that they ran small. My biggest disappointment as the purchaser was when I received the Birkenstocks in the mail with no original box--just an amazon box! No where on the site did it state that there was no original box. These were a gift to my daughter and I was rather embarrassed to give her these without the original box. It made her feel that they were knock-offs even though they truly are Birkenstocks. I would hope that Amazon would understand that to purchase such a costly pair of shoes, there would be the need to be sure that they were originals and that this was very important to the average customer. I would have still purchased the shoes if I had been told in advance that the box had been destroyed accidentally. She is still very happy and satisfied with these shoes.
After hearing raving reviews from friends and colleagues, I finally bought my first pair. I almost returned it because it was not comfortable at all initially! I'm glad I didn't because once broken in, these shoes are amazing! They are easily my favorite shoes and the soles provide excellent support!One warning though: the sizes are larger than normal. I usually wear a US size 5 or 5.5. But for this one I got European size 35 which is US 4.5 or 5. And it is still a little too big!
Love the look. Went by the suggestion of other reviewers and got a 37 even though I'm a 7.5-8. The footbed fits like a glove but I've been wearing them on and off for a week and the thong still bothers me. No blisters or anything, just more of a dull throb sensation. Don't know if I would've been better off with the 38 or if the thong would bother me no matter the size. I have high hopes that they will break in soon and the thong won't bother me anymore. Fingers crossed...
These shoes are expensive, so I hesitated to purchase them, even though I am a die-hard Birkenstock fan. But upon arrival, I knew they were worth it. Well-made, comfortable foot bed like traditional Birk sandals, and they look very nice on. I like to wear hand-knitted socks and these show them off nicely!

I wear a lot of Birkenstocks - sandals, clogs - and have for 25+ years. I have been looking for a closed toe, closed heel shoe to wear to work. I ordered in a size larger than my favorite Birk sandals, as I need a roomy toe box. These arrived and the toe box was not high or wide enough. Still convinced they were a good buy, and being my daughter's size, I brought them to her. The toe box was too small and the arch hit her in the wrong place. Similar arch result with another Birkenstock wearer at work who wanted to try them. Now I realize I am unable to return them as I exceeded the 30 days, and the fit of this shoe is wrong for me and for others. The color and the look is nice.
I have returned these to get cred to my account. The size is way out of line. I have been wearing Birkenstock shoes since the 1980s on the advice of my chiropractor. This is the first time I have ever had to return a pair. Poorly packed. Shows were very "clunky and unattractive. Way too small even though I chose a larger size than usual that I wear; they were too small. Will NEVER again go through Amazon for shoes; I order mine directly from Birkenstock. YES, I am a faithful customer of Amazon. Not their fault; fault lies elsewhere.
