In terms of comfort, the 3-1/2" cone heel strikes a good balance between height and stability. I bought from another site. I wear a 6 1/2 but ordered a 7. They are very narrow and uncomfortable, even compared to other Bettie Page shoes that I own. Within twenty minutes of wearing (just around my house trying to loosen them up), the stitching holding two of the pieces together at the top came apart. It tore all the way through the shoe, including the lining. I think the way the stitches were done destroyed the structural integrity of the lining, and the top piecing wasn't constructed well enough to hold together. It is heartbreaking, because I think these shoes LOOK great, and I love the heel height and shape.
