I just ordered a second pair of these shoes -- I've had the first pair for 3 1/2 years and the lugs on the soles are finally flattening out.The best feature for me is the ICS insole which allows adjustment for firmness and supination/pronation. My first shoes with the ICS disk are a pair of ankle height zip-side boots. I wanted something in a regular height shoe and these have been the ticket. I wear them just about every weekend. The new pair will be my regular wear, and the old ones still have enough life for use around the house and yard.
These shoes are comfortable and fit well. The adjustable pad in the heel helps to correct my foot supination (folding out), and it's been hard to find shoes to correct that. There are many shoes available to help with pronation (folding in), and this is the only pair I've found that actively helps supination.
Ordered end of May and received June 1st. Not satisfied with workmanship. After 3 weeks use only at work, 1 shoe squeaks and the other is coming apart at front. Tried to replace via Amazon. Could not replace or return because June 29th last day relative to Amazon anything could be done. On vacation and did not contact Amazon prior to July 15th. Was told to contact Bates directly.
I’ve been buying Bates shoes for years and this is the first time the soles of the shoe are falling apart after wearing them for about 3 weeks. In fact this has never happened!
I am totally satisfied with these work shoes. I am on my feet all day and have had no issues with the comfortability and roominess. They are almost like tennis shoe work boots, which is exactly what I was looking for. My feet are pretty rough on shoes due to me having flat feet, but these shoes feel great so far. Worth the price they were purchased for.
These are essentially really well made shoes and with the right fit would undoubtedly be an exceptionally good choice of work shoe. Unfortunately for me that fit has not been achieved, I used the size chart and converted from Aussie to USA sizing but it would have worked out better if I had ordered size 10 as I estimate my chosen size to be about a Half size too much. Shoes can be difficult to get right when buying this way as different manufacturers have slightly different fits, I have used insoles and that has improved the situation somewhat. I would buy again with the right fit.
I've only been wearing this shoe for about a week now, but so far so good. Very comfortable right out of the box. No break-in time whatsoever.......simply put them on and go. Not sure about the adjustable heel insert.....mine makes a clicking sound on occasion, so this may need to be looked at again. Overall, I think Bates has a winner with this shoe. Time will tell how it stands up to every day wear and tear.
I just starter wearing this shoes for the last 3 days and I am very surprise 12 3E , the fit and comfort are great on first few days and will purchase again if they continue to be as comfortable, normally I wear Dr. prescribe insole with every shoes and not need with this shoes so far. will update in near future, quality built is to be seen as my first pair was exchange due to some defect.
