When I read some reviews that said these boots were running a half size small and others that said they fit great, I hesitated then ordered my normal size. After receiving them and slipping them on, I was surprised that they felt too big! My feet did not slip around inside, though; the extra room is on the top of my feet in the toe area. After seeing the film, Wild, I realized it is better to have a little extra room than have tight fitting boots. I have been wearing them around the house all day for several days to break them in. They haven't even needed breaking-in! They are very comfortable, and I don't need to wear thick socks. The foot and ankle support is excellent. The boots are very well made and look great! I can hardly wait to go on a hike with them!
Love these boots! Fit great, arch support is lacking but, put some inserts in them and they are more comfortable. I got a half size bigger to have a little extra room for inserts and socks. Good quality and light weight boots, great for our camping trips in the colder months of AZ winter. They are warmer than I thought they would be. Overall these are great for the price.
They are comfortable and light, and I wear them for work (at a stable) and also have worn them while riding. Only complaint is that within 6 months of use (New England summer and fall) the part that bends when you walk is splitting open, and the waterproofing lasted for even less time. I would recommend getting extra boot waterproofer if you get these boots, and reapply regularly. Unfortunately that won't help when they start to crack, but for the most part they're a decent boot. If you're just doing hiking or light duty work, they'd probably be great, but the durability just isn't there for real daily use. I now don't wear them if it's raining or I have a horse to bathe because my feet WILL be wet despite my efforts. $20 tractor supply boots have gotten me further they just are heavier and harder on the feet.My coworker also has these and had the same cracking and waterproofing issue. We loved them for the first two or three months.
I love these boots! I was surprised how comfortable they were. I normally wear an 8, Med width, in flat shoes. I've had issues with athletic shoes & some boots in the toe box, so I went with a half size larger since I knew I'd be wanting to wear these with thicker socks. They fit perfectly & I haven't had any problems at all, other than the sole is still kind of stiff, so I tend to walk sort of flat-footed. It has some arch support, but not enough for my feet, but I've also had plantar fasciitis problems. So I'll be adding some type of insole to help with the arch. But overall, I'm very happy with the style, the construction and the fit.
I love these boots. They seem to be a bit wide for a regular width, but that works for me, I have a wide foot. After reading other reviews I felt more comfortable purchasing these boots. The quality is excellent. No break in period needed. I wear them all day with no issues, they even are helping with my lower back pain. These boots are so comfortable I can't stop telling people about them. No issues with delivery.Would definitely purchase again.
I'm a long-time Ariat wearer/customer, so these came as no surprise as far as fit & quality. This pair got put to the ultimate test just this past Saturday where I spent a solid 9 hours traipsing around NYC shopping, dining, & viewing the decorations. Provided the usual Ariat comfort & support throughout the entire day. Just like all of the other pairs of Ariats I own & have owned for many years now, I fully expect these to stand the test of time & just get better with age.
These are good, comfortable boots for my purposes. I walk shelter dogs in all weather and on all surfaces. I need boots that will perform well on tiled floor, concrete, grass, and dirt trails. These boots fit the bill. The soles are grippy enough, but they also don't pick up every bit of dirt and dog poop. They are relatively lightweight, yet they protect my feet from tree roots and rocks. They are water resistant (not waterproof) and have held up well. My only complaint is that I can't lace them tight enough at the ankle because the two sides of eyelets actually touch. I have perfectly normal sized ankles, not skinny at all, and I wear cushioned socks, so I can't comprehend this design flaw. I'm surprised that almost no one else has reported this issue. I have tried many different styles of hiking boots, and these have been the best for my medium-wide feet. They run at least a half size large. I would purchase these again.
I’m on concrete all day at work and the boots are comfortable and hold up. I notice that my feet are way less sore when I wear them vs other shoes. This is my second pair of ariat terrains. The first pair lasted a year of everyday use.
