I've worn Ariat paddock boots for decades and love them, so I decided to try these as a manner of killing two birds with one stone ;-)Very comfortable boots that will be good for riding and hiking, and most importantly, riding and then getting off and hiking. Lots of toe room, and yet narrow enough for stirrups (even narrow English or hunt seat ones, and exercise stirrups for galloping). They do fit exactly as expected; I ordered online, based on my normal Ariat size, and they fit perfectly. (Ariats are true to size, imo, but everyone's definition of the "correct" size depends on their experience, so ...)EDIT: After using, I still really like these boots. I've hiked in both easy and ore challenging terrain (up to ten miles at a go) and they are comfortable up and downhill, good traction (they could have bigger tread for excessively slippery terrain), stable ankles. They do get hot in humid climates (but most boots would!). And they **do** stretch a bit, so if you tend to get roomy boots, I'd go a size down. I just use slightly bulkier socks now.Perk: no one wears them, so if you get a bit lost on a hike, you can follow your own tracks amongst many hikers quite easily.
I have an older pair of these that I’ve worn for years. I like to wear thicker socks in winter and the old boots were too snug with thick socks. So ordered a half size bigger and now my feet are toasty in cold weather hiking
I bought these boots on Amazon in April, 2015. I wear them frequently to take my dog for his 1 hour daily walk on dirt roads and through the woods. They are water resistant, but not totally water proof. I wear heavy socks so a size 8 fits perfectly. They are amazingly comfortable and still look brand new after 3.5 years. Love them!
Great boot. Very comfortable and well made. Runs a little large. I consistently wear an 8.5 in shoes, but those were too large for me. Reordered and got the 8s and they fit great.
These are terrible quality boots. The toes are made of vinyl in there is no leather underneath. The vinyl started cracking after owning them for about a month now they are so bad I can barely wear them. They are no longer waterproof nor dirt proof. I didn’t even wear them every day. Probably two or three times a week. I tried to contact the company, but have not heard back from them. My husband has been buying these boots for years and after the last few pairs, he has decided to try a new brand. It’s very sad because they would be great boots if they were all leather. Don’t buy them definitely not worth the money. I wouldn’t pay $20 for another pair.
I liked my first pair so well that I bought another for rainy weather and work. You can use them for horse riding since they have a heel. I tried on my first pair so I knew what size to get. They are comfortable. Don't have to break them in! Not sure on arch support but they are padded and hi-end sneaker-like so I guess they have some arch support. I have high instep for most boots are hard for me to get my foot into. I can wear them all day at work and my feet don't hurt.
These boots are very comfortable for barn work and hiking. My only complaint is they didn't hold up to paddock mud and the soles have started to pull away and my socks are now getting wet around my toes. Ive used them for 7 months now. I love these shoes but should have just used mud boots for paddock work.
Perfect fit, true to size, great quality!
