This is our third pair great boots for riding or paddock activity
Updated June 2023: This summer will be the litmus test of this boot, I have been and will be putting more endurance miles on it this summer than ever before. I had the stitching on the exterior of the toe cap repaired, which was not expensive and well worth it. If these boots are still being manufactured with the quality materials and workmanship as when I bought them, they are still worth the price. Updated July 2022: the stitching continues to loosen, but slowly and there is no true hole in the seam yet, and I continue with long conditioning rides on the trail and endurance rides. I will take the shoe for repairs at the local leather shop when necessary. I replaced the insoles, which probably should have been done a year ago anyway. Considering the amount of wear and abuse I deal out to these boots, I continue to rate the quality as very high and worth the price. Updated July 2021: First signs of wear are starting to show. I wear these a LOT for riding. Just noticed that about 1” of stitching on the sole side of the cap toe seam on the right boot has given way. Considering how much wear I put on these boots, it doesn’t diminish my opinion of the quality of the product because they continue to serve me well with hard wear. Because these boots were expensive, I wanted to make sure they were quality and would last. I reviewed them a few months after buying them, updated my review a year ago, and am updating it again 2 years later. These boots continue to be comfortable and sturdy, showing no signs of wear beyond what would be reasonably expected given the amount of time I spend wearing them. Wow, very impressive boots. Obviously high quality, love the sole and footbed. I purchased these over a month ago with high expectations and the boots have not let me down. They broke in amazingly well, are super comfortable and so far are holding up very well with hard wear, I ride horses 5 days a week and after six weeks these are still perfect. Highly recommend.
Let me start by saying that I have difficult feet to fit and real comfort right out of the box is a rarity. I have a massive bone spur on my left heel, my right foot/ankle/leg has a permanent size difference for multiple reasons. Ugh.My Ariat Nitro Paddock Boots were delivered today and I couldn't be more pleased. :-) They fit both feet like a glove and adjusted easily to the size disparity of my right side. Because of the slight heel, the pressure is off the bone spur, and I can walk without pain for the first time in months. The boot is incredibly supportive, particularly in the shank and heel, with adequate room for my toes. I usually wear a 7.5 wide, so I bought a size 8.10/10 would buy again.
I thought this was going to be a newer upgraded version on the Heritage IV but it was not. These were so stiff and hard to break in I just gave up and ordered the Heritage IV. These felt stiff and clunky and uncomfortable where before Ariat boots were my favorite for being to easy to just to put on and ride with little to no breaking in necessary but not anymore. The newer the model the worse it seems to be. I don't know what has happened to Ariat lately but boots and jackets and half chaps that used to really last seem like they are poorer quality and quick to wear out. Ariat was always my go to for decades but I've moved on for just about everything except the Heritage IV boots. These Nitro's were definitely not worth the higher price they charge.
Very comfortable!! I used to get horrible, burning pain in the top portion of the bottom of my foot from my western riding boots. I have an average foot size (6.5), and they are very flat and wide. These boots are very padded in the sole; which eliminated the burning foot pain, and the lace up style makes them extra great because I can loosen and tighten them to fit my goofy-shaped flat feet!
Have been wearing these boots for 4 months only and the stitching on the toe box has already pulled out along the outside. What happened Ariat? My last pair lasted 18years, this pair is awful.
I work on my feet all day at the barn. I just love them. Best fit, size, and comfort. Shorts or long pants, looking good. Fits the part of barn life. Just live them. Want another pair so I have them forever.
I had a pair of these for many years before I finally had to retire them. Thankfully they are still very high quality and look very good as well. I would highly recommend them!
