This is my second pair of ariat work boots. I bought these because I needed a good pair of black boots for patrol work, and I was tired of trying the other combat style boots that didn’t hold up or were not comfortable for 12 hour shifts.. I have a pair of brown groundpounders that are around 6 to 7 years old and still going strong after a long hard abusused life, which is why I gave these a shot. My foot measures at an 11.5 wide, and that’s the size I bought these in agian. The size was perfect, a little snug at first which is typical with slide on boots. It took less then a week to break the boots in at wearing them for 6 to 12 hours a day. Once the broke in, they are just as comfortable as my older pair. My arch is on the lower to non existent side, which when these boots broke in, has not cause me any problems and are comfortable in the arch area. Only time will tell if these boots will hold up as long as my other pair.
They look good and fit right. They’re wide enough to actually get my foot into.
I've had these boots since 2015 and I've abused them so hard. I used them primarily working at restaurants and kitchens in the food service industry. I'd wear these boots all day and then late into the night. After work I'd keep my boots on and work on my car doing general maintenance or repairs. I've honestly abused my boots so hard and never really properly took care of them. Here we are 2022 and the boots are still relevant and comfy. One thing I would like to mention is when I first bought the shoes I got an insert (Dr Schols) and used that instead of the stock insert. Why? I don't remember why I switched it out but it was more comfortable doing so. Since I've had the shoes I replaced the insert twice. The bottom of my boots are pretty worn and no longer have tread but I really put a ton of miles on my boots and I'm honestly surprised they last as long as they do. I've also abused these boots very hard. Some notable accomplishments I've done:* When I was a dishwasher I put my boots through the conveyor dishwasher to "clean" them as a joke.* Cleaned my boots weekly in the dish room using the retractable sprayer cleaning the gunk off the sides and bottom of the boots.* Worked front end of the restaurant and challenged oil resistance and slip resistance of the gore-tex* Actually got automotive oil on them while working on my car* Carelessly walked through puddles of water when it floodedI've honestly been a trailblazer to these boots and never took care of them properly but they are still very functional. The grip at the bottom is mostly gone and so I was looking into getting a new set and just couldn't help but write a review. These were my first Ariat boot and they have survived 3 restaurants and joined me in my adventures through college. Now that I've graduated college I want to get a new set for a comfy office job and treat them better. I love how durable these boots are.
Great boots, very solid, most comfortable thing I’ve worn on my feet in a decade or more! Can’t beat the non-slip, non-marking, oil resistant outsoles, and the inner sole looks & feels like a higher end aftermarket item. Better still, I’m diabetic, and my Podiatrist approved these once she saw how soft the sides are, how roomy it is overall and at the same time is snug enough to not slide around inside them. She picked them over a pair of ankle boots which were wider but didn’t fit quite as well, and those were specifically rated as diabetic shoes. The only reason I knocked them a star is that Ariat apparently doesn’t make anything with a zipper, which would really be helpful. They’re not dirt cheap, but excellent value for the price.
I’ve bought these since my old work boots got worn out they are so comfortable after you break them in (which dose take a while) surprisingly it’s pretty hard to find a black cowboy boot With lug soles I just wish they’d make a smooth leather version
I like wellington work boots, but I hate wellington boots with "cowboy" soles. I wear these boots daily, whether I am going out that night or doing work in the yard. They are a very comfortable boot! When you first try them on, they will be a little tight, but the leather will break in and fit your foot perfectly within the next few days. I didn't even get any blisters. I have wide feet, and the 10.5 wide fit a little tight at first, but now they are perfect as I broke them in. The leather is very nice. These are my most favorite boots thus far. In terms of wellington work boots, I strongly believe Ariat is the best.
Paid $159 for new boots and received used scuffed up worn boots. Very disappointed! I would have gave it zero stars if I could.
Look great and feel great. Easy to break in.
