I have owned a pair of Aravon Dolly’s for the past year and I just bought a second identical pair I liked them so much. The price couldn’t be beat either. They are very comfortable even after wearing them a lot over the past year. The sole has not broken down at all and is still pretty cushy. I ordered a size 11D and they fit perfectly in the toe box area as well as the rest of the shoe. I like the Mary Jane style as I have high arches and the strap fits comfortably over the top of my foot. The leather is high quality and has held up really well. Well fitting shoe that causes no pain, callouses or unsightly bunions.
I’m lucky that Aravan always fits me like a team of elves snuck in during the night, measured my feet, and made perfect shoes for me.The footbed is beyond comfortable, and the arch support is perfect. These are also attractive.
Pros: (1.) These shoes look stylish. It's very difficult to find supportive, comfortable shoes that are stylish. (2.) The quality is good but not great. (3.) The inserts that come with these shoes can be removed and your own, custom inserts can be inserted. I have four, expensive, custom inserts that I constantly transfer from shoe to shoe. I usually just wear my New Balance walking shoes because they give me the best support and are the most comfortable. The inserts that come with these shoes are very substantial -- almost as supportive as my expensive, custom inserts. So, since I only plan to wear these shoes when I want to be more stylish, and only for a few hours, I decided to leave their inserts in the shoes to save me a lot of juggling of inserts! (4.) These shoes are comfortable enough for an evening out, but not as comfortable as my white New Balance walking shoes! (5.) The seller is very good to work with. I accidentally ordered the wrong size so I emailed the seller and they bent over backwards to straighten out my order. They were very polite and helpful.Cons: (1.) The straps that cross over the front of the shoe close with velcro that does not actually fit my foot. I can't make the shoe tight enough for my foot because when I pull the strap to fit my foot, the velcro does not line up. I must leave the strap too loose. Maybe I'll take it to a shoe repair shop to have the strap adjusted. But, they'd have to cut off about a 1/2 inch of the strap and re-apply the velcro. Since I don't plan to wear these shoes often, it's just not worth the time, money, and effort to fix the strap. (2.) The sole of the shoe is slick. The rubber is very smooth and slick. I do not feel comfortable walking on any floors or surfaces that are wet. The rubber soles are a LOT different than the rubber soles on my trusty New Balance walking shoes. (3.) These shoes have a metallic decorative edging that looks cheap. Maybe I'm just not used to stylish shoes, but I think the metallic edging detracts from these shoes and looks like cheap paint. Aravon is simply NOT up to the New Balance quality standards.
This is a beautiful shoe. It's well made and not too clunky looking. It has a removable insole so you can put your own orthotic in the shoe if you want to. It seemed like it would be comfortable and supportive. It would've looked okay with slacks or a skirt. I am between sizes--so I had to send back two sizes of these. The larger size was too big all over and the smaller was too short and too narrow. If your feet are the right size that these fit, I think they would be great!
These shoes were a bit wide for a "narrow" size, but still cute. They have some arch support and are cushy. I can count the number of times I have worn them on both hands, yet they broke today while I was away from home. This is not a cheap shoe, but clearly it is cheaply made. The strap that holds a ring which keeps the strap across the shoe broke at the point of the stitching. This does not look like something that could be repaired. I will not buy Aravon shoes again and am hesitant to purchase shoes from Amazon as well.
I have very hard to fit feet and expected to be let down again....BUT, I am just amazed.... This is the very first time in my whole life that I have purchased a pair of shoes (women's 9WW) and they fit right out of the box....no "break-in" time needed. I now know for myself that the reviews for this Aravon shoe are correct....they don't need to be "broken-in."In all of my shoes, I must wear orthotic insoles. A lot of times, the shoes are not deep enough for the orthotic insoles to comfortably fit. But not so with these Aravon Dolly Flat Mary Jane Shoes. First, I must say that because of the excellent build of this shoe, I can almost get away with not wearing my orthotic insoles. But, because I had some Syono Orthotic Gel Insoles on hand (excellent insoles), I replaced the original insoles with the Syono insoles and the shoes were still a perfect fit and an excellent feel.Aravon by New Balance are excellent shoes...I am now searching for another style in the Aravon shoe. Thanks to those that wrote reviews that helped me to make this purchase.Thank you New Balance for making Aravon shoes.SW
These are cute. However they were too big and I wear this size in other brands. I also felt the shoe was too hard. I’ve worn clogs before and this shoe did not bend. Even a clog though, is shaped too fit a human foot. Something about these, they just did not fit me right and my foot could not walk properly. I’m returning them. I usually spend between $120-200 for a pair of shoes and I bought these because of the look and price. However, in my case I’m better off spending the money for a well shaped and well made shoe.
