Very nice boots! The sizing is perfect and the wide shaft fits my wide (15.5in) calf well although it is snug with jeans tucked in. The front of the boot hits just below the knee on my long legs so shotel legs may findicate the shaft too long. The leather is a little stiff but the boots are well made and the quilted back of the boot is classy looking. The boots are comfortable but after walking in them for 8 hours my ankles were sore from the stiff leather. I'm hoping they will soften up some after they are worn a few times. All in all, I would recommend thesee boots to taller women with calves no larger than 15.5 inches in circumference.
Very nice boots. First day I wore them was a rainy day and they kept all the water out. They are comfy to walk in as well. The whole reason I got these was because I needed something with a slightly wider calf since the boots I ordered from another seller were too tight on my calves. These are a perfect fit on my slightly larger calves and even give a little wiggle room. Also Im usually a 7.5 in women's US and ordered an 8 instead and its a perfect fit as well. Highly recommend!
Just received these today and they are simply beautiful. Well made, good quality leather. I would say they are a tad narrow and maybe a tiny bit short. I normally wear a 6.5 but purchased a size 7 in order to wear with thick boot socks, but I may have to stick with thinner socks since my feet are a tiny bit on the wide side. As far as calf size goes - these are advertised as wide calf boots and they deliver, at least for me. My calves are 15 1/2 inches in circumference and I still have about 1/2 an inch or so of wiggle room. The buckle hardware appears to be good quality. I look forward to many years of service from these boots.
Finally, a true wide calf boot. I have a wide calf at 15.5 inches so a 16.5 inch calf width boot is perfect for tucking in leggings and jeans. These boots are true to size and are really a wide calf yet they look fantastic. The leather is a good quality and the style is classic yet up to date. These are not grandma boots! So glad to find a brand I can trust with a wide calf size. I got black, I'm probably going to get the brown ones too, b/c as a wide calf girl, once you find a boot that fits and looks great, you buy it in every color you can!
The boots feel nice quality wise. My calves measure at 17inch, so these were a bit tight when you squat, but if you're standing they're not that bad. My major complain is the heel on my left foot is really rubbing and hurts to walk, not sure what the deal is. I might have to order a size up.
My calves were just too big for these boots -- they were great quality and looked great though.
These are advertised as wide calf, and the calf area is indeed wide. However it tapers back in above the calf and the zipper only goes from ankle to midcalf, which means I literally could not even pull these on far enough to see if the foot part fit. They will be returned.
These are very well made boots, however I wouldn't have bought them at full price. I purchased them because of the wide calf and that part of the boot is perfect. I usually buy size 7 in boots in order to accommodate a thick sock, however these even with a thick sock a bit too lose around my foot. So after wearing them all day, walking, sitting, standing in the train, I haven't had the massive urge to take them off; I couldn't have probably worn them even longer and they didn't slow me down as big boots usually do when walking. I haven't had any problem with the boot hitting my leg whether in the front where they are right at the knee or in the back where they are just below (I'm 5' tall, but my legs are longer then my torso). I have two detractions - they are very square through the ankle in the front, turning my ankles into cankles (more so at the front then at the back) and they scuff very easily around the shaft of the boot. After wearing them just one day I already have a discoloration on the top of my right boot, right around the knee area - I can't fathom how it's gotten there and what could have made it. I am keeping them though, they are very light and comfortable and they do not chafe anywhere, which is rare.
