First time trying this brand. Altra is very comfortable with the wide toe box and perfect amount of support and cushioning. I have another pair of zero drop from Merrell and the Altra shoe is better all around. Good on sidewalks and natural surface trails, not hiking or climbing. Ideal for every-day, workout, and crossfit.
I don’t usually spend this much money on shoes. I’ll just start the review by saying that. But, these shoes are worth every penny. I bought the white ones, but I definitely should’ve bought them black. I only say that because white shoes get dirty so easily! And they’re too pretty to be dirty. I didn’t realize how badly my feet needed the extra wide toolbox in these shoes. And when I started walking with them, my feet just felt instantly better. They have just enough support in them to make walking really comfortable. I do wish the laces were a little bit longer. I have naturally wide feet, and I barely have enough lace left over to put them in a proper bow. Lol. Right now I’ve used them for walking, and wait training. These shoes were brilliantly for both. Will be using them to run pretty soon as well, and I have nothing but high hopes for them. Hopefully they last, as long as the price point would suggest, although I would not mind purchasing these again, even if they didn’t. Worth the money, very comfortable shoe, highly recommend
As soon as I put these shoes on, I felt definite relief from my arthritic, bent big toe. The wider, taller box is a much better option than the brand of shoes I've been wearing for the last 7 years and there's plenty of room for my orthotic. I ordered my normal size instead of having to order a half size larger to accommodate my orthotic so they fit as expected.There are a few minor things that would raise my rating to a 5: - The shoe laces are round, short and slick. They don't stay tied. I had to replace them with longer laces. - The sole could have a better grip. These are a little slick on the packed snow and ice. - The heel is a little wider than my other shoes. I have very narrow heels so this is even more problematic than my regular shoes. - My feet do tend to slide sideways with any lateral movedment. - Because the toe and heel are at the same level, I've had a tendancy to lean backwards and have to catch myself. The shoe doesn't propel my foot forward when walking so it takes a little more effort to walk. - They could have a little more cushion.Having said all of this, I'm very satisfied with these shoes.
I'm a devoted fan of zero drop Altra shoes although I don't run or cross train. I just like them for everyday wear. I also buy them because the natural shape of Altras give my toes the room they deserve! I ordered this particular style because they were available in black. Most Altras come in wild colors which may be great for runners but... not so great for everyday wear. This shoe is lighter than other Altras I've owned, something a runner/cross trainer might appreciate more than I do. It has some cushioning but not as much as a lot of running shoes and some other Altra styles.

Cute wide toe box shoes are hard to find and I finally decided to give these a shot. I like the look and they're very comfortable, but I noticed this tear when I put them on for my third time wearing them. I didn't wear them often and am now 2 days outside the return period. It's unfortunate the quality wasn't quite there and I'll have to look into other brands for future purchases.
I wear these shoes when I work out with weights. They are very comfortable and have great support.
