It wasn't clear that this was a suede shoe
I’ve Alwsys bought mostly Sperry TopSiders & they were OK but these A/E Force 10 shoes feel like they were “custom made” to fit my feet. I wear a Wide D that fit perfectly! I also bought a pair for my son - a size 10 normal that also fit perfectly. Nice job Allen-Edmonds!
I wear a 10 wide to 10.5 regular in their other shoes and the X-wide was way too large. I gave it a shot because it was on sale so that doesn't reflect on the shoes, just on me.What does reflect on the shoes is that it was painful to return them. They were great looking and extremely comfortable.
I bought the Allen Edmondses after striking out with two preferred shoe companies on size 14s in roughly this style. Big mistake. The rubber soles sound like a child's squeaky bathtub toy. I trusted that the relatively high price signaled quality, but the overall look and feel are far less than the price suggests. Keep looking.
I bought Tan on a good sale from Warehouse Deals. Pleased with the purchase. I likely will not be testing these on the deck of any yacht anytime soon, but the soles of these Force 10 seem to be formidably "grippy," as one would hope of any boat shoe. Fit is snug. Can be worn sockless or with thin socks. My first pair of Allen Edmonds boat shoes, but I hope not the last.
