My shoes fit as expected and well. I liked the cut of the loafer and quality of materials, If I there was a second color like medium or light tan I'd buy it as well since the style is perfect for more formal and informal occasions, great for the office. Bill
This show unfortunately had a very stiff heel that rubbed and caused blisters almost immediately unfortunately. The shoe rides higher than normal around the ankle and overall did not fit as well as i had hope from a premium shoe. Material quality was good but not comparable to other shoes in the $500 RRP price range
So far so good.
Had to return these beautiful shoes because they were too narrow.
I have purchased this product several times over the years. I always order 8 1/2 C. This pair was very uncomfortable. They were very stiff, like wearing boards. They were never like this before. Were these true Allen Edmonds, or a knock off
All of the positive comments about Allen Edmonds on here are spot on. Most new shoes hurt my feet for quite some time. These are my second pair of Allen Edmonds and they both feel as though I had broken them in for six months from the very first time I put them on . They look great too.
I have been an AE customer for over 30 years - probably closer to 40. Some dress shoes I have are more than 20 years old, look good and are very usable. In the last 10 years the quality has noticeably decreased.Becoming interested in why, I did a little research about whether the company changed hands. Sure enough, it has gone through three purchasers since 2006 (one a VC company - and we all know what happens with purchases by VCs) - and in 2016 ended up with the Caleres company. If you Google them, you'll find that they own many labels, most of which are low to middle-of-the-road companies. On AE's own site there are many customer review complaints about lower quality than in the past. I too have seen that. I've also seen that although AE charges premium prices ($250 -$500) (but, in fairness, not at the level of some well-known quality shoe makers) their customer service responses to complaints on their own site accept no blame, offer no replacements for clearly defective merchandise, and are obviously canned. At one time AE shoes ranged in style between business-conservative standard styles to sophisticated styles, particularly in casual shoes. While the business shoes remain their standard conservative style (nothing wrong with that if you need shoes of that type), their casual style ranges from mundane to middle-of-the road unimaginative (and I'm not promoting styles that are in today and out tomorrow - but rather updated classics - which used to be AE's bread and butter).I thought I would always be an AE customer. But too many problems with quality have led me to conclude that current management no longer has the values of the venerable shoe company AE was (AE really gained a foothold after making highly durable shoes and boots for the military in WW II, leading to many returning soldiers becoming lifetime purchasers). Too bad, but as too often the case unbridled capitalism in which CEOs are rewarded for current profit over long-term success leads to another great American brand that has been diminished in the favor of squeezing the last penny of profit out of unsuspecting customers who were used to the quality of AE shoes.
Husband has worn Allen Edmonds Graysons for years; He has a narrow foot between a B and C ; the C's fit perfect, no slipping and not too narrow. 5 star!
