The materials and workmanship of this shoe are first rate. My only caution is that, as I have, some buyers purchasing the 3e width that I purchased may find it a bit narrower than expected. (I'm cautiously optimistic that as the shoes are broken in and softened the crosswise fit will ease up and become more comfortable.)
Great service and response time. Excellent quality and superior fit!
My husband's wide foot is not 'tapered' as these handsome Allen-Edmonds shoes are designed. He needs a more rounded toe, so sadly these had to be returned. We've since discovered the Clark's 'un' shoe line which is now a huge success for him in 'W'. They fit like a comfy glove and are well priced.
This is a great shoe. This was the third pair I purchased. However, the sizing was WAY off, nearly an inch shorter than the pair being replaced. Maybe they just put the wrong size in the box, but a reminder to be careful when ordering any shoes on line. Sizes to vary from one manufacture to the next.
This shoe looked great online and I am trying to build my AE collection and needed an easy everyday all around slip on loafer. I would normally wear a 10.5D in AE's classic line but that size was way too narrow for me in this shoe. I exchanged for an E which was better but I could tell that extended wear would be a problem. After inspecting the construction and reading some sole delamination reviews I decided to give up on this shoe. Leather is nice quality and thickness, insole cusioning not so great and the toe box is very shallow. I found the legnth to run ok just the width very narrow. I probably could've done ok with an EE or EEE but there was too many construction quality poor reviews which seemed valid once I was able to see the shoe in person. The materials they're made of seem quality though and the sole feels like good grippy rubber.
Of all the 20-30 pr of loafer/slip ons i have ever owned .... these are by far the best. fantastic foot wear. how do you put a price on comfort and quality? I highly recommend these. Airline travel just a bit easier as well..
Are these authentic AE shoes? If so, their quality and workmanship had gone down. The leather on the top of the shoe has a noticeable scratch. The part where the sole and upper connects looks sloppily done like a child cut the rubber and glued it to the leather. The sole has cut marks and the leather had some glue transfer. The leather on the seam of the toe was not neatly sewn and had a small piece of leather sticking out. I realize the same exact shoes sold in Nordstrom are made in USA but these are made in Dominican Republic, which leaves me to wonder if these are even authentic at all. Definitely not worth the price I paid for. After seeing the pair, I wouldn’t buy these even if they were marked down at the outlets. Definitely not the AE craftsmanship I was expecting.
I love these shoes, the look and feel and comfort. I can't wear them all day but that's an issue with my feet, not the shoes.Incidentally I have the tan/brown version but I would also get the lighter version of that color if I could find them in my size.
