I can't tell you just how much I love these shoes! So comfortable that I can almost forget my platar faciitis! Perfect support for long days at the hospital!
These are my second pair of these particular shoes. My first pair made it throgh over a year of 12 hour nursing shifts. I like them more than the other styles of shoe Allegria makes. I like especially that the portion against the top of your foot is padded and flexible. They are true to size.
While visiting a hospital I asked the nurses what shoe was the best for standing on your feet for a full shift. They agreed this was the best shoe and that it offered the best support. I have to completely agree. I have no pain or discomfort after standing on my feet all night long. I buy a new pair about every 6 to 8 months.
Absolutely love this shoe! I have Dankso, Softwalk, different Alegria styles and just about every tennis shoe known to nursing and nothing can compare to these. Great arch support, comfortably bouncy footbed, plenty of stretch where you need it and very lightweight. I'm giving 4 stars because after about 6 months the patent leather started to peel and crack. I work 12+ hour shifts in an ICU constantly "kicking" equipment and beds so I wasn't shocked to see this as it's happened in the past with other brands. A six month lifespan is worth it to me for this level of comfort so I went for another pair, trying out a black matte style this time to avoid patent peeling.
I purchased these shoes because they were recommended for someone suffering from planter's fasciitis. The 1st time I wore them to work I had almost no pain for the entire day! As soon as I came home and took them off putting on other shoes, I began hurting again. They are comfortable and stylish and do what I need them to do. The size was accurate and exactly what I expected. I will absolutely purchase these again!
The soles didn't match and one was so big in the arch that it was painful. I tried to get a refund but couldn't. These shoes are too expensive to not get a refund and the seller completely ignored me.
***Update June 3, 2021: Welp, my hopes were in vain for a higher quality outer material. It’s only been a few weeks, and the outer material is already wearing off at the toes. Very disappointing given this price point, and I’ve updated from five stars to three. I don’t think I’ll get another pair of these once this pair wears out.***This is my second pair of the Duette. This shoe has been an absolute savior for my feet through hundreds of 12-hour shifts in the MICU. The sole offers some softness for shock absorption, which is essential for dealing with my plantar fasciitis, but the sole is also very supportive. There is no part of my foot that feels unsupported or out of alignment while wearing these. I feel like my weight is properly distributed. The bottom of the shoe has a sort of rocker shape, which makes the natural walking movement nice and easy. I also like that the shoe fits on the heel rather than being the style that flops back and forth as you walk (like some clogs). If these shoes have a fault, I'd say they are a little warm. However, I used to wear fully rubber clogs, and these are much cooler by comparison, so I'm happy. They don't seem to develop much of a smell, either, but I do spray them with a shoe disinfectant at least weekly to keep them clean and fresh.I will also say that the Flourish Black the first time, and the shiny outer material peeled off at the toe pretty quickly, but they still lasted over a year before I decided to get another pair. This time, I got the Iron design, and it seems as though the outer material will last longer on this design.
I wear a size 9 Reg, and the arche support in this shoe gives my archless feet just the support I need. Just returned from a 3 mile walk with my dogs. I put them on immediately and OMG. I'm wearing them now to recover from my walk!:)
