I have various foot pain issues and can no longer wear any old sneakers. These are not only super cute and super easy to put on, but the wide truly has a comfortable toe box, and just the right amount of padding and roominess. No slipping. No pain. The material, elastic back, and nice shoelaces were all bonuses. Love love love!!
The back is an elastic type and the material seems to cut into my heel. The material is soft and fits a little large on me. I can't wear these for more than a few hours...less if I'm walking a lot in them. I don't like the fact that the "tongue" of the shoe slips down when trying to slide them on. I love Spenco and have about 20+ pair! All 5 stars. But this model, Santa Clara, isn't for me. I gave it a four star because the look is great, the arch is okay, but not as good as Total Support. I wish they would bring back the non-mule style Siesta with the air vents on the sides. Those are my favorite but are 8 years old now and I need a new pair, but it's been discontinued. I wrote to Spenco begging for them to bring back the model...I don't think they listen. I still am wearing these because I'm a Spenco snob and just love the brand, the feel, the fit, the comfort...but this Santa Clara may be their worst model to date.
