When it comes to choosing the perfect ballet shoe, many dancers find themselves overwhelmed by options. The So Danca SD16 Stretch Canvas Shoe stands out thanks to its unique features designed specifically for those who prioritize comfort without sacrificing style. The fully elasticized canvas works beautifully to contour around your feet, allowing for a secure fit that enhances your dance performance.
This shoe is especially suited for young dancers, particularly due to its easy pull-on design. You won’t have to fuss with laces or drawstrings, making them ideal for quick changes before class or performances. However, it's worth noting that while these shoes offer a great fit, they may lack the arch support some experienced dancers seek. This factor could make a difference in longer rehearsal sessions.
Additionally, the fact that this shoe is available in various widths and colors makes it accessible for all dancers, regardless of their preferences or requirements. The lightweight feel and durable materials ensure that you can dance freely without worrying about your footwear.

These and Bloch's "Performas" have become my go-to technique shoes. I bought this pair as a gift for a friend of mine, and she loves them as much as I do, for all the same reasons. They're light and flexible without sacrificing fit, and if you have good feet they really show off those arches (my feet are both my best asset as a dancer and probably the whole reason I have a job, so you know I'ma show them off all I can ^-^).They also allow an excellent feel for the floor. Stretch canvas shoes vary there—I find the contract patches on Capezio's Hanami model too thick, while those of SoDanca's SD16 seem to blend seamlessly.Of note: if you find that stretch canvas shoes compress your feet more than standard canvas shoes (a complaint I've heard once or twice in discussions of stretch canvas shoes), it's very likely that you're wearing the wrong size.Sizing systems vary from brand to brand, and while my European street shoe size is reliably 39, I wear everything from 7.5 to 9.5 (11 if you include Sansha, but I don't use their technique shoes), B or C width, in ballet technique shoes depending on the manufacturer. These shoes shouldn't feel stretched at all times like strong leggings or driving gloves—they're not Spanx for your feet ^-^'The purpose of the stretch fabric is to allow them to follow the movement of the feet from flat to demi to full pointe without bunching. They don't have to fit like compression socks to do that. The lightness and flexibility of the SD16, along with its wide range of sizes, make it easy to find that perfect fit.
I’ve purchased these in black and nude. They’re great for performing on asphalt and gravel and make it feel like almost being barefoot. The shipping was prompt. Sizes fit. I’m recommending these to everyone I know!
My daughter has been dancing since four. I have been buying these for a while. She likes them a lot.
This is a pretty good shoe for the price. It came earlier than expected, and I got to use them for the nutcracker. It was a little tight, but that was because of me choosing the wrong size. Also, a bunch of the seams and threading came loose. If you want your shoe to last a while, this is not the shoe for you. Overall, it’s a pretty good shoe, but if you’re a pro, don’t count on it lasting long.
These ballet shoes were perfect. Very happy with the purchase
Perfect!! Quality and fit!!
My daughter loves to dance but is hard to find shoes for. We bought these thinking they would be ok, she has fallen in love with them.
my daughter takes alot of Ballet. She lives this shoe over all the rest. Perfect fit to size
