Detailed Review

The Skechers for Work Men's Synergy Ekron Work Shoe impresses in several key areas. First and foremost is comfort; the relaxed fit allows your feet to breathe while providing ample room for movement, which is essential during long work shifts. The low-heel design prevents fatigue, making it suitable for those who are on their feet all day.

As for the materials, the blend of synthetic and Trubuck leather not only enhances durability but also makes these shoes easy to clean. A quick machine wash is all it takes to keep them looking sharp. However, some users might find the width a bit excessive if they prefer a snugger fit.

Traction has been thoughtfully considered as well—the synthetic sole provides good grip, making these shoes ideal for environments where slips could be a concern. While advanced cushioning technology is absent, the overall feel remains satisfactory for daily wear.

In summary, if you're seeking a reliable work shoe that balances comfort and durability, the Skechers for Work Men's Synergy Ekron is worth considering.

Husband actually raves about these work shoes

My husband needs shoes for work with a steel or composite toe. He is a challenge to fit because he has very wide feet, so it’s hard to find good options. We spend up to $150 sometimes on shoes because it’s worth it if they work for him. But all the best brands still have the same issues. We are switching from KEENs now because they keep wearing out so fast and hold a bad odor, which is typical for work shoes like these. With these (and all other Skechers he has had), the fit is perfect if he goes up a half size (from 10.5 to an 11) AND get the wide width. The wide width is wide enough and he LOVES these shoes for work. We are always looking at great shoes that a comfortable, tough but not heavy and decent looking and hopefully don’t get too smelly! He says so far these are ALL of that plus a lower price than what we usually pay. We will see how long they last because he is super hard on shoes of any kind or any brand. But he said they are incredibly comfortable .. if they don’t get too smelly, I will love them too!

Best work shoe I've tried

I absolutely love these. Im an industrial mechanic and go through them about every 6-8 months, but I continue to buy them because they are so comfortable. I wear them everyday at work and usually on the weekends too. Way way more comfortable and timberland steel toe sneakers and every other boot I've tried. Ill continue to buy these again and again.

Most comfortable/durable safety-toe rated Skechers

*pictures are of the same pair bought 4 months ago, just washed one shoe to show you its actual appearance.Other shoes: I tried 5-6 different models of Skechers that are safety-toe rated and this one was my top pick. I reviewed older models (~77055 Crankton first made 2014) and newer models (77183 Greetah made 2018?). The higher the style number, the newer that pair is and the shorter amount of time it's been dry rotting on a shelf somewhere. The Greetah is my #2 only because when I walk I can feel the jagged rubber bottom teeth, which are better for predominately uneven surfaces, and I work on flat hard surfaces, and the toe box/safety metal feels a little under padded for my toes. I have not tried the 77123 (Delleker) but I might try for my follow on pair.Product: Style 77068 BKCC, Black/Charcoal suede, red insole, alloy steel toe=ASTM F2413-2011. I/75 C/75 standards for impact and compression.Feel/cushion/sole/step/sizing:The shoe walls are very plush and make my foot feel snug. The sole is their memory air foam design, which will flatten while you're standing on it and expand back when you step. I definitely recommend a second inside sole if you REALLY want to feel like every step is like a pillow. Or an arch support sole if you need it. I purchased my normal shoe size and the shoe fits well. The toe box gets a little tight with my second insole, but that's expected and goes away once I squish them down from walking. Some shoes' safety toe piece cuts into your toes, this pair does not have it for me.Quality: I wear these shoes for 50hr work weeks, each day I spend few minutes on gravel/quarry stone and red clay, then the rest of the day on data center floors. Shoes have not shown any sign of deteriorating/ tearing/ flattening. There are reviews of the heel cushioning tearing from excessive thumbing the shoes on and off, the bottom soles separating from the rest of the shoe. Just check all those out and determine if your usage level will result in the same shoe failures as those people.Looks: The black suede scheme keeps a low profile for shoes. You could also find a neon green color scheme if that fits your work place. the suede washes easily, as shown in the pictures.Final recommendations: research the style/model # and how old it is, use Amazon wardrobe if possible to try 3 pairs at a time, wall around with mixed pairs on to see if you like the left or right foot's pair. Highly recommend a second insole of you like a plush sole feeling.

Order a half size up and get yourself some good insoles...

I work through temporary employment agencies, and every once in a while they place me where steel toed safety shoes are required. The first pair I bought were from Walmart, and I wound up buying the foot mapping orthotic insoles, also from Walmart. They made these otherwise sub-par shoes tolerable. On to these shoes, the back story was important, I promise. After a little over a year in being placed in a lot of safety shoe required assignments. I decided it would probably be worth my money (and foot health,) to invest in some better quality safety toe shoes. Since I wear Skechers shoes for almost every other occasion in my life, I felt it smart to start with them. I found rather quickly that their safety shoes are a lot pricier than I expected, but I decided on these anyway. The appeared to look nice (considering I'm a female buying men's shoes, a 9.5 men's was a lot easier to find than an 11.5 women's,) and were priced reasonably when coupled with prime shipping. I ordered on a Friday, and also opted for Saturday delivery so I could have them in time to break them in before starting my new assignment the following Monday. The shoes came on schedule early Saturday afternoon. Upon opening the box I noticed the shoes look a bit different in color than the pictures... This is not important but worth mentioning in case it is. The color "black/charcoal" means the shoes are black and the soles are charcoal, not the shoes being black and charcoal and the soles being white like I thought. This aside, I immediately threw some crew length socks on and started walking around. I should also add from years of walking 20+ miles a day at work on concrete floors, I suffer from moderate pain in the arch of my left foot. A shoe is good to me if I do not experience this pain instantly when I put my left foot into it. I was off put slightly that even with the memory foam inside these shoes, this pain was instantly noticeable. I don't have this issue with any other Skechers shoes. I walked around a little longer before putting them away and hoping for the best at work.Driving to work was easier than with my other steel toes, this is a composite toe which makes it more light weight than steel, and makes pedal control more manageable. Walking into work, my pain returned. By first break, 4 hours and 15 miles (according to my pedometer) into my shift, my feet were both in agony. This was also concerning because I've never had issues with my right foot. Not to mention the fatigue I felt in my legs. I couldn't wait to get home and get these things off. Now, that all being said, why 3 stars?Safety toe shoes suck. No matter what brand you pick, they're just terrible. However, I ordered a half size up from my normal size after some advice from previous coworkers, and once I put my trusty foot mapping orthotic insoles in these shoes, they were as close to perfect as one could expect a shoe like this to be. No more foot pain, no more fatigue in my legs, and no discomfort in my toes due to the safety toe.I hope this is helpful. These shoes are really well made aside from the faults that all safety shoes come with.

Comfortable

I bought this for work because of the composite toes. I find myself using them more off work than on so I bought another pair just for home. I like the look too. I bought them in black.

Comfortable steel toe shoe

My previous pairs of work shoes were a little clunky and heavy. These are lighter and the padding is more comfortable and supportive.
