In May 1965, led by team captain Arthur Ashe, the UCLA men's tennis team wins the NCAA National Championship on its home court in Westwood, California. Ashe, the country's highest ranking collegian, captures both the singles and doubles titles, as UCLA claims 31 of a possible 34 points. SeaVees celebrates the casual style of California in the '60s. The brand is a study in sixties revisionism in which each style is named after an influential date in California history. They are endlessly inspired by the coolest place on the planet, in the coolest of times. Think rebel cool, aesthetically pleasing and creative ingenuity. Now think of these things with 40 years of perspective, appreciation and contemplation. SeaVees is a journey through which to understand California's vital role in influencing American culture. SeaVees is Authentic California.

I have several pairs of this same sneaker- except this one is different than what is pictured. The picture shows a sneaker with seven eyelet holes for shoelaces-- but the one I received had only six-- which makes the vamp look shorter and odd. Not sure why this sneaker has 6 holes when 7 is pictured-- and all other Westwoods have 7. It appears to be the Monteray style but with a SUEDE toe and back stripe-- odd combo-- and I returned this shoe because of that.
