These are great shoes, and after the fiasco I had with another seller and their ridiculous sizing chart and poor customer service, I almost didn't take a chance on these. But, I'm glad I did. The size NINE is a real size NINE in woman's. Not as size EIGHT sold as a size NINE. These fit like a woman's genuine NINE. So, true to fit for sure. The only issue I have, is that they are a bit scratchy on the top of the foot area, and had a few issues with areas that were sharp/scratchy inside the shoe. I wear very thin socks, so I felt all of those spots. I eventually got all of them addressed, and they wear perfectly now. Very good support, the cushioning could be a bit better, but not bad at all. These have helped my walking, as I do suffer from plantar fasciitis and have heel spurs. These have helped, they look really nice, and are comfortable. I will be replacing the soles with some inserts at some point, but overall, I'm very pleased.
I love these shoes! The color is cute, they are comfy and fit perfect! I’ve been wearing Ryka’s for over 10 years to teach Zumba. They are great! They hold up and are super company for at least six months. I try to change out my shoes every six months but you could definitely wear them longer because they were last.
*Updated Review:So it’s been a few months now and I’ve been wearing them for my daily walks. I’ve updated my review to 4 stars from 3. They have broken in and feel comfy. I prefer that my shoes feel comfortable right out of the box, but I do realize some take a bit of wearing to break in. They are not the most comfortable shoes I have had, but they certainly are not uncomfortable. The heel slipping problem I had it first seems to have resolved itself with time. Would I buy them again? Possibly because they were a decent value But not necessarilyOriginal review:Given the good reviews I expected these to be more comfortable out of the box. But these …. not so much. I usually wear Merrill Serenes but thought these would be worth trying considering the price point and reviews. I did consider returning but I am going to give them a chance. As far as sizing they are a good fit. I feel like the heel is kind of low so wondering if it might feel like it’s slipping as I wear them. If it turns out I love them or hate them in the future I will update my review. But for now, the best I can say is they’re just Okay
It seems to be difficult to find size 10.5 and then to add the need for a wide fit but these do the job. I have been unable to get any closed toe shoes on for several weeks now and I can wear these without any pinching of my baby toes. They are light weight and have a good amount of support as well as cushioning.
I wear a size 9 sneaker with a wide width and rarely buy shoes online but I’m glad I ordered these They fit perfectly and are probably the most comfortable show I’ve ever walked in. They are also orthotic friendly which is a bonus
I have wide feet and wear a size 8. I ordered 8 wide. I had thin white crew socks on and could fit two fingers inserting in shoe behind my heel. That tells me I should of ordered a 7 & 1/2 wide. The width is perfect for my toes, they have wiggle room and big toe nor pinky toe rub against sides. Instead of returning these and ordering a 7 & 1/2 wide I am just going to wear thicker socks. I am afraid if I go with 1/2 size smaller then my heel will rub on back of shoe and toes will hit top of shoe.As for comfort just wearing them around indoors, my feet did not hurt however I have not worn them outside on asphalt yet because of it being a rainy day. Also I have Plantar Fushia so needed a walking shoe that had good arch support and so far I believe these shoes do. I bought these to specifically do walking in because I want to get back in shape and drop some extra weight. The true test is when I actually can get my walking in to see if they still provide comfort and keep my feet from hurting. The only negative is I feel the shoes are a over priced for wide width. I could see maybe $5.00 or $10.00 extra but $15.00 extra is ridiculous. I also feel real leather should have been used for trimming especially for the price of these walking shoes. I hope this helps those who are considering buying these walking shoes.
I've never bought shoes specifically for walking- I've always just used old cross-trainers. But I walk multiple times a week, anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour, and my feet were starting to hurt in my old trainers. These shoes have made all the difference in the world! My feet are supported, especially my heel and arch, and they don't hurt anymore. And because my feet are supported, I can walk even further than I have been. and it feels less laborious. I highly recommend these shoes.
It is best for your foot and especially if you have any foot pain with walking to walk with head over pelvis and lead with your heel. Therefore your heel takes the most weight bearing and your body is able to use the bigger muscles to move. The respiration is posed optimally so diaphram is not crumpled into a forward flexed body posture.I have been attempting to get the weight OFF my forefoot and walk more upright. The higher heel zone and extra bounce in athletic shoes put me in poor body alignment and made the smaller forefoot and arch muscles work harder to balance my body. Alas all the athletic shoes I bought with all the cushioning and the elevated heel were making me take a walking break every 8-10 minutes as it threw my head forward and made me walk more on my forefoot. OUCHI also learned with my wider foot and wide toe (square foot) to purchase a wide shoe and size up. I learned this form a hiking store in AZ that was able to fit me and relieve foot hiking pain.. I was taught to tighten laces on mid foot arch area. Providing foot support so it does not spread out when you walk and allows for toe room, no rubbing. this shoe actually has a wider sole for wide sizes (not just wider fabric) therefore your foot is not hanging off the sole.SUMMARY FOR BUYER: IF you have a wider foot and wider toe area SIZE 1/2 to one full size up. This shoe will place you in alignment for leading with your heel. It has just the right amount of cushion, for walking. Positions body into natural alignment for movement. Your foot will roll through a stride perfectly. You will walk easily with these shoes.
