Better than expected

I read the reviews on this product and decided to go for a first time online shoe buy. For the record- I have very wide feet, a high instep, and some gnarly toes that make getting the right fit extra tough. Brick and mortar sellers have so few wide/deep walking shoes that just finding a pair to try on can become a time consuming and costly effort and I always wind up settling for a pair with less width than I really need, ouch! The supplier shipped them out the same day and they arrived on time with only a short delay with UPS in Illinois. The shoes were sized as ordered and in pristine condition. Most important though was the fit. Wow! The width was accurate on the money. Not like some shoes where skimping on material makes fit a dice roll. The toe box is wide and deep so there's plenty of wiggle room for not so perfectly shaped toes, and the depth was no problem at all for my high instep. The leather top seems durable as do the metal "D" rings that the laces go through. Laces were the round heavy kind which stand up well to tugging on. The tongue is padded which in some shoes creates a crowding problem but not on these. The insole was the only let down. It's pretty much a flat foam with no amount of support under the arch or heel. That was no big deal since I purchased an aftermarket set specially for wide shoes that had an arch support and gel under the heel. And low and behold the aftermarket supports and my foot still fit into the shoe with heavy socks added in. This is a first for me. Because of my high instep this was never possible before. One or the other would always have to go, foot or insole. Guess which one won out. There was minimal break in time with no chaffing or rubbing. They felt good from the start and the already soft body leather softened even a bit more after a couple of days. Treads on the soles seem to work fine on wet surfaces and stability is good. These shoes worked out better than I expected. The price was right. The quality appears to be there and the fit and extra room really made these a find.

omg. FANTASTIC FIT AND COMFY

i have custom medical support inserts that are very thick. Also, I have very wide feet. These shoes fit perfect and look high end. The shoe being as deep as it is, easily accommodates my custom insert and the generous width fits my wide feet perfectly. For the price, this is the best all leather upper shoe on the market. I plan on buying more of this style in different colors and leathers. I would recommend these shoes for anyone with hard to fit wide feet who have medical issues with their feet. BUY THESE SHOES.******************************************Its been a week and the shoes feel great and look fantastic. I hope to be buy more soon.

Ok but Not Great

My husband is on his feet most of the day 6 days a week at work so he really needs something with a lot of support. He said these shoes are ok but not as much support as his other brand.

Wide size a joke. These are super narrow!

Calling these shoes 5E wide is worse than a joke, it's a blatant lie. These are significantly narrower than my 4E New Balance shoes. If you need wide shoes, look elsewhere.

Comfort width and long lasting quality are very rare today

This is the only shoe that my dad wears mainly because there are very few quality shoes on the market today available in the true extra wide widths. He has worn the Propet Stability Walker in 3E width, but since trying the 5E width he has even more comfort. As always the price was reasonable on amazon and the truth is that I don't know where I would actually find these shoes in person anywhere within neighboring states so ordering from amazon is ideal and amazon is where he always buys these shoes. He will be 81 years old and since discovering the Propet brand about 12 years ago when I bought his first pair in person for him from an actual Amish run department store he has become a customer for life.
