When it comes to walking shoes, particularly for those with specific health needs like diabetes, the right balance of comfort and support is crucial. The Propét Men's Stability Walker Walking Sneakers excel in this regard. The initial impression when wearing them is one of plush comfort due to the memory foam topper and well-designed cushioning. I didn't like these when I first got them because they don't have much of a rocker sole; and I had bought them for exercise walking. They also require some breaking in, which I wasn't accustomed to. However, they were very comfortable for grocery shopping and running errands so I used them mostly for that. Then I sprained my ankle badly and found that they were the only shoe to provide the support I wanted while healing. Once broken in, they were also more comfortable for brisk walks. My first pair is almost two years old now and still isn't badly worn; but I recently bought another pair just to have on hand. The fit is as expected.
made well
I used to buy these expecting a year or more lifespan. The soles would wear out before anything else. However, they changed from thick leather straps that hold the D rings for the laces to cheap fiber reinforced plastic strips. In less than a month, they broke and rendered the shoes useless.I don't think I will return to this brand again.
Following the advice of a previous review of these shoes I ordered a half size larger than I usually wear. I am glad that I did, since had I not done so the shoes would not have fit width wise. However, I now have shoes that are slightly too long and so I am constantly kicking things.Overall good quality and comfortable shoe, just not as wide as I was led to expect them to be.
Bought these for my son as he has a hard time finding shoes due to foot deformity. He is able to wear them all day without them rubbing on his feet causing irritation. We were extremely happy to find a shoe with such wide widths and you can't beat the price! Will definitely purchase these again.
This shoe has a wider heel than any other that I've seen. I have a replacement ankle joint and I need the extra width for stability on my bad leg. I feel really secure in these shoes. I've had several of these in different colors.
I write this from my experience. Never buy shoes online. Ok I've bought sneakers that way and have been happy with them. Thats luck. Im not saying these sneakers are bad, I'm saying I've ordered my size 10.5 5E many times before and have been very happy with other brands at that size for 40 years. These swim, not a lot but enough to cause the muscles in my feet to clench tring to stabilize the shoe. This causes tired feet and a general feeling of discomfort. You may be lucky, they may fit you but its akin to Russian Roulette.Oh and there is not enough insole padding. In fact very poor padding all around.Updated 2 starsStrange experience with these sneakers. Day by day they seemed to fit slightly better. However I then noticed although there was good padding on the side top of the sneaker there was hardly any on the sole. Then as days went by I noticed calluses on my sole and a digging into the sides of my feet. Tired feet. They are the worst sneakers I've ever owned as far as comfort goes. Thats why I bought them.UpdatedI bought a special pad to absorb the shock $30. The shoes fell better with time, took two months to be ok. I'd give them 3 stars if they wore is way when I got them. Two months of hell stay away.
I like the sneaker, but ordered a 5e this time. I usually wear 4E, but only saw a cjoise of 3 or 5E. I'll stay with a 3E next time.! Sneaker is very comfortable though.
