I am a long time mephisto fan. But some of their older styles are frankly kind of doddy. I ordered these to wear for a trip to Tokyo, as these look fashionable and comfortable. My feet are on the narrow side with high arches. These are extremely comfort to wear all day. While the shoes already have pretty good insoles with good arch support, my feet are skinny and bony, so I ordered these 1/2 size larger so I can put another thin flat insole under the original removable insoles for more padding, knowing I'll be walking on concrete all day. They worked perfectly. First, the shoes look expensive, high quality leather and the lizard pattern is on trend. The laces are white with sparkly silver, which dresses the shoes up even more. I wore these with pants and day dresses. I ran all over Tokyo with these shoes all day and night and my feet were blister free and comfortable. The shoes also seem to breathe well since it was in the 80sF there, but feet did not feel overly warm in these shoes. Highly recommend them.Since the insole are fully removable, you can replace the insoles with your own insoles, but because shoes are kind of dressy, if the insoles are too thick and raise your feet up to high, you may feel your heel slip.
The shoe is light. Is quite stylish. It has great comfort and support and I can literally walk for miles in themI have a pair in white that I used when traveling abroad and although a bit pricey I ordered another pair in champagne that I am now looking forward to wearing and enjoying on our new trip coming up
When you’re working in the yard those mornings when it’s chilly and damp this shoe is a must have. My feet stay dry and warm. And of course the awesome support throughout the day is always a big plus. They are true to size. My size 7 or 37uk was perfect. A little snug at first but real leather stretched to perfection.
The shoes were too large and had a large gap at the heel. They slipped up and down a lot as I walked.
They are the best shoe ever; I have plantar fasciitis (or did have) and since wearing these I can walk my 3-4 miles a day with NO pain. Have tried taping, cheap splints, physical therapy but nothing helped until I found these shoes.Nothing like Mephisto and I bought another pair so I can have them when they other wears out.I cannot say enough great things about this shoe. If you want comfort and durability then this shoe is for you.
This shoe is a charmer. Leather is beautiful and buttery soft. Insole is marvelous; it makes you WANT to walk! Toe box is designed so your toes lie just as they would if you were barefoot. Just the right room to wiggle and feel those toe-joints moving. Unfortunately for me, the heel slipped a bit. I tried adding a 1/8th -inch insole but it still wasn't quite right. So glad I tried it!. I returned it and ordered the Mephisto Laser shoe.
Almost a year ago, a woman got on the Metro at the National Airport wearing these. They stood out as she was well-dressed with impressive jewelry. I asked the brand, bought them and now I'm online to buy another pair. Not because they've worn out. If I were to give them a good wipe, it would be hard to tell their age, it's just that I want a pair in two different locations because of my commute. They are pricey, but worth every penny. I wanted something "athleticy" , but a tad dressier and I didn't want to buy sneakers. These fit the bill. I can even get away with business casual trousers or a casual dress with these. Buy a slip in arch support and you can walk (and look good) for hours. I LOVE these shoes. These and the FLY LONDON'S I swear by as far as comfort goes. But these have a casual sophistication that is so attractive.They were a little snug at first, but stretched out nicely to the width of my medium foot. I get many comments about them.
I wanted to love this shoe. It felt great going on. It fit perfectly. But... if you have Morton Neuroma this shoe may not be for you. I have not felt the neuroma For several weeks wearing my Birks and Hukas. With my first step I felt it and new I would need to return these great shoes. Regardless I would highly recommend them in every other way.
