Wow. So, I've had Ecco shoes before and know the quality and long life of their product. I had a 2.5 week trip planned for Italy, and was looking for travel shoes. Tried many brands/models, and got a pair of these right after Ecco released them. They are heavier than a sneaker, but not as heavy as a boot... love the matte finish of the black upper. They come with a 'dual layer' insole, so you can remove one to gain a larger toe-box if desired, and boy was that a treat compared to my Soft 7 sneakers. I walked just over 220 miles on my recent trip to Italy, and they handled everything with ease. Cobblestone, light rain, all day wear. They might be a bit warm in the summer heat, but for the mid-temp and cooler months, paired with some merino wool socks.... you are set! They still look great after my travels as well! I'll likely have them around for a few years at least... Ecco shoes are known to last.
