It is too tight. Very uncomfortable.
I wear an 8.5 normal width shoe. It was very narrow so I returned and replaced with 8.5 wide. It was still very tight across the bridge of my foot. I tried a 9 wide and it wasn’t much better. After 5 minutes of wearing them in the house, I couldn’t take it any longer. They are going back!
I bought the black suede version like my old ones which are 8 1/2. They fit great. Some folks might call them a little tight, but since suede is leather, it will gradually stretch like most leather does if it's worn every day like my Sperry topsiders are in the summer. These work with my diabetic socks that I buy from the drug stores and keep my feet warm. I'm planning on buying the plain black leather version to wear with my jeans. I wear the black suede ones with my velour joggers for going out, not exercising.
Size 8.5 Easy Spirit Hester. This is my 2nd pair of these shoes. 1st pair purchased 8 years ago and I wore them a lot. Not a "sneaker." It is a very comfortable slip on with a good grip on damp ground. I wear these when it's a drizzly light rain type day with an average thickness sock. True to size for me. I wear an 8.5 medium but my foot is close to a wide. Although most wide shoes are too wide on me. And a medium with a pointed or narrow toe is too small. This Easy Spirit shoe has a generous toe spread.
I normally wear a size 12 wide tennis shoe, 11/12 heels & 11w to 12w in dress shoes. 12W fits like a glove. When the price dropped from $106 to $27 I couldn't resist. I've worn these 5 days a week for 3 weeks without an issue.Wow was I impressed. Super soft leather, removable insole, practical style, stable foot bed, & absolutely No break in period. The soles have a very light & Low audible squeak almost like a growl on tile but it's barely noticeable & not annoying for others around you, but worth mentioning. I like pairing long pants with these & I've received a lot of compliments. Most people think they're boots.Super Bargain at the price I paid but only time will tell if they are worth the full price.I have these in brown and black. Excellent leather finish, I haven't had a single scuff or scratch to touch up.Highly Recommended!
There could be a bit more arch support for my liking, I had to put inserts in them to get the comfort level I expected. Also, my feet have never sweat in a pair of shoes before, and with these my feet sweat badly. I thought they were leather and are not.
Not the easiest shoe to slip on. I usually have to use a shoe horn. However, the shoe is well made and very comfortable. I am pleased with the purchase and would recommend.
This was my second pair of Easy Spirit Hester shoes. I love them. I bought the black ones first to wear with nicer pants and they look great. They look a bit like I’m wearing boots but they are much more comfortable than that. I liked them so much that I bought the brown ones too. They are like wearing tennis shoes but look much nicer than that.
