We ordered these jazz shoes because the price was so good, and they look identical to the Capezio brand. The reviews for this shoe did not deter us from buying because we could tell that the people leaving reviews about how tight they go on and the sizing being off from the size of street shoe a dancer wears, have absolutely no experience with dance shoes. Jazz shoes are supposed to be tight around where the leg and foot meet. Even Capezio brand fit tightly. As for these shoes being off in size compared to street shoe sizes, YES it's true, that's also how dance shoes tend to be. It's no surprise, for me, as a former dancer myself and having two daughters in dance. My oldest wears a street shoe size 2.5. We got her a jazz shoe size of a 4 because they do 'run small'. Please be aware of this before you order. The size 4 fits her perfectly, with a tad bit of room in the toe area. My daughter was happy with how they went on and also how they felt on her foot. No complaints as of yet. I will update should there be any issues that arise.
I bought these shoes for my 7 year old daughter. These were a very affordable option for jazz shoes! They are a great quality and super soft inside and outside!! They do run very small, so make sure to order about 2 full sizes bigger! She wears a 12 in street shoes and I ordered a size 1. They fit perfect with just a little bit of growing room! She LOVED them.
Okay, so I went along with the reviews and bought 1-2 sizes bigger than my daughter's actual street shoe size of 12.5/13 (depending on the shoe). I bought sizes 1 & 2, and figured I would return the shoe that didn't fit (no pun intended). Well, size 2 was huge and clearly much too big for dance, and size 1 fit, but not the way a dance shoe should...way too much room in the ankle and toe area (the last 2 pics). Now, I am by no means a dance expert, but i am almost sure that jazz shoes should be a snug fit so that they don't fall off the feet during the dance routines. So, I quickly realized that the bigger sizes were not going to work. I went back and ordered her actual shoe size of 13 (the first 2 pics), and it fit her snug around the ankles, with a little room in the toes. Although they are snug, by the time she puts on her tights, the shoes will fit the way they were intended to. Now you can definitely go bigger, to get a couple of years wear out of them, but to me the fit is awkward if you choose to go bigger. As for the quality of the shoe, it seems decent for the price but its too early to tell, we'll see how they hold up after a few months. The truth of the matter is, I would love to save money and buy her shoes that she can grow into and wear for a few years, but, I have come to realize that dance is an expensive activity. At least these are easier on the pocket than capezios, and at this price, it is much more affordable to get her another pair when she grows out of this pair.
We bought these and had them overnighted via Amazon Prime as our daughters started dancing and we couldn't find their size locally except at one store with rude employees and exorbitant pricing. Our eldest wears a child's 12 in a tennis shoe so that's what we ordered here. These fit snugly on her foot while not being too small. We did have to stretch them initially just a bit to get them on. We found the easiest way was to put the front of her foot in the shoe and them grab under the heel of the shoe and push back towards the back of her foot and up. They go on pretty easily after her 2nd class now. She loves them, and says they are comfortable. I hope we can make it through the year in these without her outgrowing them. If not, we will be back here ordering another pair!
This is a nice shoe and very good quality. The color is perfect. I only wish they would have fit. I ordered her a size 2 in BIG KID. She is actually in between a 1.5 and 2 in all other shoes. These fit more like a size 1. She could barely squeeze them on, and there was no way she'd be able to break them in for a better fit. I wish they had time to buy a size up, but dance starts today. I am writing this review while printing my return label to mail it back. All in all -- get 1 size up, at least. If you do, I think you will be very happy. Side note... the box was demolished in the package. It isn't a big deal. I just hope it doesn't affect my return.
These are awesome! My daughter loves them and we loved the price. They run almost true to size, in my opinion. We bought some last year of the same brand and it seemed like they ran really small, but this year when I ordered, they seemed to be more accurate. They are really flexible and comfortable for my daughter who wears them many hours per week to dance in. She wears a size 2 normally in street shoes, and we bought her a size 3, and they are tight enough to be comfortable, but she still has plenty of room to grow in them! Perfect!
Okay. I don't want to bad mouth their product because they seemed like really good shoes. I ordered a size 3 for my nine year old and they were waaaay too small. She couldn't even get her foot in these. This is more like for a little kids size. I am just going to send them back. They seemed like good quality shoes besides that.
My daughter wears an 8 and the 8's in the dance shoe fit with just a tiny bit of room in the toe which is perfect. I bought a 9 also because the reviews said they run small, but the 9 was too big. The only complaint I have is that opening is a bit big. It doesn't fit snugly around her ankle like it should. But they work just fine for a 3 year old!
