Best shoes ever. Sole is firm with nice traction. Same natural foot shape as Birkenstocks. You may need to play around with the laces to get them to your desired tightness. I will I knew about these years ago.
I really love the look of these shoes. I'm pretty picky when it comes to my footwear and it took me a couple years to find the "just dressy enough and just casual enough" leather shoe I wanted. So I ordered these and a black pair. The first 2 days I wore these, I ripped up my heel so badly that I could barely walk. Thank goodness it was summer so that I could walk in flip flops during the recovery! This happened in early July and the blister scars are still clearly there this early September. I haven't been brave enough to put them on again, but I expect to wear them all the time this fall in New England. I think the problem is that they are just a bit small. Thick socks won't be an option with these. They are challenging to put on because the elastic laces don't have a lot of give, which is probably good so that they stay on your foot...I'm normally a U.S. size 7.5-8, NEVER bigger, so I got an 8 to be safe...but if I had to do it over again, I'd probably get an 8.5.
Good arch support is the reason that I can't wear most shoes. These shoes do not have a giant drop-off, otherwise know as arch support, that hits my foot in the wrong place and is very painful. For the last several years I have been condemned to wear Crocs almost all the time because they do not hurt my feet. The cheap plastic tends to flatten quickly in a way that makes the shoe actually fit me. Plus there is plenty of generous toe box. I live to find flat shoes & I mean really flat--no heel, no nothing--just shoe. These are the best I've found in a few years. Some manufacturers like Aerosoles and Blowfish start out with shoes that are flat but soon get on the swooping, skateboard park that's called arch support and I can no longer wear them. So, I love these shoes. Sadly, I was motivated to purchase the PEU Cami boot. Totally different story. How can 2 shoes in the same line be so radically different? It took me 2 minutes to know that I had to return them.
Not sure about quality I had to return them, these were the most uncomfortable shoes I have ever tried on.. not even worth ten dollars, the fit is super narrow , my feet are not wide but these are made for thin and flat feet I suppose, even though I purchased a size up still the top where the laces are was super tight and uncomfortable. The definitely not worth the money.
I LOVE THESE SHOES. The only reason I gave it 4 and not 5 stars is because I have had these shoes for 3 months and I wish I went with a different color/fabric because any water on the outside of the shoes stains them.To speak on the POSITIVE side: before I bought these shoes, I was having foot cramps every day (and throughout the night) for months. As soon as I started wearing these shoes, the cramps went away. I got rid of 90% of the shoes in my closet and now I don't think I will buy anything other than Peu's until I find comparable comfort. These pictures are after 3 months of wearing the shoes almost every day in a rainy city.
These came in a battered box, no inserts in them as is usual, just loose in a piece of tissue paper. A string of thread at the back and a yellow spot on the side. I KNOW these were a pair that had been returned. I really like them so I'm not returning, but I'm pissed off.
This was the tightest fit I have seen for a size 12. It really was more like an 11.
I have a Camper store where I live and that is where I first saw these shoes. I should have bought them then but when I went back they were out of stock. I called Camper directly and they were out also (very popular shoe.) I decided to give Amazon a try and what do you know, they had them, I was shocked, but boy was I happy. These shoes are comfortable and I get compliments whenever I were them. I actually saw a woman with a pair on. Best example of money well spent. These are really good shoes and would purchase again.
