I ordered the 'Brothers United Men's Leather Luxury Lace Up Perf Detail Sneaker, Black Nappa/White Sole, 10 M US' for review and would like to share my thoughts.First off I must say that I am kind of a shoe snob. Working as a shoe salesman for a very reputable men's shoe store in my younger days sort of ruined me haha. So when I received these, I really was critical in observing the quality of the leather and overall craftsmanship. At first look I was impressed and tried them on. I was expecting them to not fit correctly, or that they would fit too wide. I tend to have narrow feet with very low insteps, so shoes are really hard for me to find that fit right. Well I was impressed with the fit! They fit perfectly actually, and the laces didn't close shut all the way like most shoes do for me. Now for comfort. I was concerned that because these didn't really have much in the way of an arch support that they would hurt my feet. I didn't have that feeling at all when I first tried them on so out for a walk I went. At first they were a bit on the snug side but after a couple of hours that snugness went away as the leather started to soften up a bit. Speaking of the leather. These are a really nice high grade leather upper. They are well crafted and the stitching is beautifully done. My wife and daughters made fun of the already dirty looking soles at first, but after putting them on, it was as if I had had these shoes for weeks, and they said they looked fine actually. I love them and think they look and feel great. it's not always relevant these days, but I have been a firm believer that you get what you pay for. In this instance I think it stands true. Overall, I think that these are a great pair of shoes and think they are totally worth the investment!
There are times for sports sneakers - like playing sports and going to the gym. But once you leave your teenage years, it's time to regularly wear shoes or grown-up sneakers. These are just that - sneakers made to impress. Wear with no-show socks and jeans that show some ankle. Gives off that urban chic style.Other reviewers complain that these are small and need to be broken in. In light of that I ordered 1/2 size up and they fit perfectly in both length and width. Come with fake skuffs on the soles which are made off-white so they never look new. The leather uppers are shiny and could use just a little skuffing. But these are made for style, not working, so they should never get gross like those skate shoes you had as a kid.And speaking of skate shoes which I wear for normal things (when comfort is more important than style). These uppers are thin with only a little padding around the ankle hole. They flex fine for walking, but they really are not designed for the moves of sports. Way more comfortable than even the best dress shoes. But not as comfortable as sports sneakers, skate shoes in particular.
These sneakers are leather, with the exception of the bottom. You will think they are dirty at first or have been worn previously, but that is how they are manufactured. If you look at the top pictures for the product, you can see that the color of the sneaker is also smudged on the rubber portion and on the bottom of the sole. This is a design element. The leather is nice and they are comfortable.
I really like the look of this shoe and it's made of nice quality material. My foot runs a little wide and I am finding this shoe to be a little tight on my feet. I ordered a half size larger as they are generally a little wider. If you have a slightly narrow foot this would be a great shoe for you.
