Got these to support my arthritic knee and limited mobility while working on my feet.They fit beautifully, are very supportive and help tremendously with balance and stability. And they’re really cute. Now that I’ve had knee replacement, I love them even more. I walk, bike, go to PT and exercise in them, all seasons.I have to get another pair in a different color!!!
I’ve worn the Birkenstock sandals for a long time... I needed some sneakers and found these... I just got them and I’ve been walking around the house and they are as comfortable as my sandals... actually they kinda fit like a glove, very natural, balanced feel...I do recommend this shoe... A few years ago, Birkenstock finally made some dress shoes I liked -- a few of the ankle boot designs looked sleek and stylish enough to wear to work. Now these sneakers are available as all-season casual kick-around shoes that fit a blunt forefoot nicely and don't look frumpastically clown-like. I added elastic laces to slip them on and off fast. I also ordered another pair in a second color while I can still get them, because you have to jump on the rare decent-looking Birk products.
Absolutely love these sneakers! These look so cute. The right shoe has a rough seam on the inside which rubs on my toe. A bandaid took care of that - hopefully the rough spot will wear down and I won’t have to wear a bandaid forever. I tried these first without socks - the fit is spot on and it has that great Birkenstock footbed. I have some thin knee-hi socks that work the best but I’m not really wanting to wear knee-hi’s in the summer. My half socks that I normally wear with my tennis shoes sneak down in the heel - I think that great footbed grips the socks down. I found a better fitting half sock that will stay up on the heel but then the shoes were a bit snug and those socks rubbed a blister on my heel. My problem is really about the socks - and I experienced the same problem with Birkenstock’s Stowe boots. Having said all that - I love these and I’ll figure out the socks. I’m thinking of ordering the suede tan ones for winter!
So basically you get the look of converse with the feel of Birkenstock. It was very hard for me to find a natural foot shaped shoe that wasn't hideous. This solved the dilemma. Because the toe box does not taper to the middle, it allows the big toe to remain straightly aligned. This is perfect for the prevention and suspension of bunions. Mild to moderate bunions will have no issue in this shoe. If you have a particularly large bunion and need extra room over the joint, I suggest the leather version of this shoe, which will stretch more. But for those of us who have small, mild bunions, who have pain when the tip of the toe is pushed out of alignment with the joint, the canvas does just fine. Suspend those mild bunions and prevent the formation of them with this super cute shoe!
Birkenstock is one of my go to shoes. The left shoe on the Achilles’ tendon kept getting poked. I removed the shoe to find that they had started and stopped the stitching right in the back of the shoe. When you use monofilament thread, you should never start and stop on a spot that would rub.
I have very wide feet, the toe box accommodates well! I’m on my feet 8 hours a day walking on concrete and I have no complaints! Very comfortable and will but again!
If you love your Birkenstock sandals but need a shoe this is the one. Fits true to European Birkenstock sizing. If you know your birk size order it here. My feet feel great at the end of the day. AND I’ve had many compliments on the look of my shoes.
