I have most of the things wrong with my feet that you can except flat feet-- super high arch and instep, very wide ball (and spreading because of hypermobility), true Morton's toe, neuroma, hammer toes, narrow heel, bunions, plus all the damage from having been a dancer...it's a miracle I can walk ;) These are unbelievably comfortable shoes. There's room for inserts and metatarsal pads without squishing the toes. They look pretty good too-- of course they are a clunkier style because the toe bax is roomy and I'm w size 11, but I actually like it; child of the doc martens era, I guess. I wear them with slouchy socks and skirts all the time. I also have the mules, but these are a bit more comfortable because you can control the instep with lacing. The sole is just supportive enough (I like vibram soles normally, but this isn't annoyingly stiff) And because the tongue is webbed, they are totally waterproof! My only complaint is the brushed suede holds mud and therefore looks dirty a lot, especially the black, but it brushes off ok. All in all this might be my favorite show in years.
I am looking for waterproof travel walking shoe. I really like these. They are relatively soft, have a nice footbed, feel supportive, and don’t look huge in size 11. Unfortunately I need a wide to accommodate a bunion and a wool sock. I am very sad that there is no wide available. These would be perfect for travel.
I took a chance on these shoes mainly b/c they came in a D width and had good reviews. I love oxfords, and these seem like they will be excellent for many hours of walking when traveling, etc. I have “duck feet,” ie, wide at the front and more narrow in my heel, so I’m always looking for a wide toe box. My normal size is an 8.5, and based on other reviews, I purchased these in a 9D and the fit is excellent. I like that they are waterproof, and I bought the wine color, which turns out to be gorgeous — not too bright. Doesn’t seem like they’ll need much time to break in. I had a pair of Aravons in the past and liked them, these seem like they will become beloved as well.
These shoes are very comfortable and well made. Fit as expected.
After reading the other reviews I decided to order this shoe in 2E, but kept my usual size of 8. I have never had to order a 2E before, and should have ordered an 8.5 for length. The shoe is a little snug. The support has been good, the look of the shoe is good, not real happy to find out part or all of the shoe in made in china. Still deciding what to do about this shoe, $150 is a lot of money, to be unsatisfied with.
I wear 8 Narrow shoes and found these in size 8.5A a good fit and quite comfortable. However, the toe is very, very round. Some might find this an advantage, but I thought these shoes made my feet look fat and alien, not foot-shaped, so I returned them.
Ordered these to wear for yard and garden work. Really got tired of wearing a cast off pair of old shoes for that. There seems to be good support and are rather heavy duty. They are so comfortable that they might not make it outside. The size is as expected and an extra set of shoe strings come with them. Oh by the way, they are more attractive than I anticipated from the picture. Very glad I ordered them.
I've gotten this pair of shoes at least 4 times over in the past 6 years or so. This is my main walking pair of shoes and I often take 2 to 3 hour walks. They hold up magnificently! And, I can use my Super Feet soles in them. So, comfortable! (I learned from the beginning to get them a half-size larger. I normally wear an 8, but I always get these in an 8 1/2.)
