Since COVID my husband and I take our bikes to the CA coast every weekend and ride 30 miles or so and hike/walk along the bluffs or beaches. These shoes have been great. The tread is thick enough that I don't feel the spikes on my pedals, and it has quite a bit of grip when we are walking on steep sand dunes and rocks. They seem well made and think they'll last a while. They are not as light as the Sketcher walking shoes... like the GoWalks but that's to be expected. These are durable and somewhat waterproof and have great support (no stubbing your toes on branches like the thinner styles).I did add the bungy type shoestrings w/ the lock, I didn't care for the ones that came in them, they were thick and never wanted to stay tied.Overall, I'm happy with them. I did a lot of research and almost passed these by because there were hardly any reviews ... so here's mine :) These are great shoes.
These took a bit to break in. They are heavy. Almost weighted. So a person like me who has pigeon feet it helps me walk normal. Which causes some pain wprking muscles on my ankle and arch that are not used to working. Done about 40-50 miles hiking on these in trails in Missouri so lots of rocks. Still standing and becoming more comfortable each time. Hard to lace still because I have a extremely narrow foot and the leather is stiff. All in all very happy with shoes.Now. They run normal for me. I have a size 8.5 foot and these shoes fit nicely!! HOWEVER I have long toes. With Skecters D'lights I have to go up a size because of my finger toes.I also know a lot of people are saying shoe isnt wide enough. I have a very narrow foot that i have not had a issue. Only struggled with making the shoe tighter. --So it maybe true that if you have a wide foot these shoes may not be for you. Now, If u have a narrow or very narrow foot they may work well. And long toes fit perfect without sizing up. (At least that was my experience.)
I love the color of the shoes and that it's water repellent. I finally found a pair of hiking sneakers that I like! Really good price! I was surprised to see that the shoe laces are mainly decorative. They can tighten very little. The shoe is actually a slip-on not a lace-up. I wear a 6.5 and the shoe is a perfect fit. It's just roomy enough for a pair of thick hiking socks. The arch is not significant. The sole seems to be very firm not too stiff, balanced and stable and I can't wait to go hiking.
I wear normally a 8 1/2 in most shoes but ordered a 9 which is what I wear in Keen, Columbia, etc… Length worked well. The blue color is very nice, they seem well made, cushy insole. I ordered these for days I am walking 8-10 miles in town to help with sciatica that is worse walking on hard surfaces. Good news! They definitely help with this! Bad news, they are super stiff, no real tongue for shoe so you can’t get a snug fit. They are chunky, and I personally wouldn’t hike in them beyond a smooth gravel trail for that reason. I also found them boxy. I had to add an additional memory foam insert and wear double socks for a better fit. I have never done that with any of my other hiking shoes. They still slip slightly as I walk which is annoying. It really will just depend on how they fit you. I will use for errands and my in town long walks and stick with my current Patagonia and Colombia hike shoes and boots for the trails. I would not order again. They are very nice looking. So if using for a job where you on your feet, I think a good buy, hiking not so much.
I wear an 8.5/9 and the 8.5 is exactly the size it should be. My big toe on my bigger foot comes just up to the edge. They are a wider shoe, so the next size up would be too roomy. My feet are average for width, though- if you have a narrow foot, this might not be the shoe for you. They are sturdy (a little heavy and stiff) with excellent grip on the bottom.Love the color!
The shoes are very uncomfortable and shoe laces are too short for the shoes. They come untied while hiking in them because you cant tie them correctly but the deal breaker is how hard these shoes are, you feet hurt after walking in them. They look alright but over all I wouldn't recommend these shoes. Try shoes directly from sketchers.
I bought these for my 11 year old daughter to wear hiking. She is wearing a size 4 kids shoe, but I figured with thicker hiking socks a size 5 women's would work. They do! Perfect sizing (a little room to grow), fabulous traction, kept her feet cool, cushy memory foam, waterproof (she went in a creek on the first outing - totally fine!), and she loves the teal color. We are going hiking in the Redwoods next week and she is excited to go and wear her new shoes.
Fast delivery. Great shoe, but i think i will return for a smaller size. I'm usually a size 6 1/2 but it didn't fit as snug as i wanted so will try a 6. I tried tightening the shoe laces to see if it would feel more snug but the ankle part felt loose. I took a picture side by side with my NB energize size 6 1/2. But over all very nice looking shoe.
