The Salomon Men's X-Render Hiking Shoe excels in several categories that are crucial for any outdoor enthusiast. First and foremost, its comfort level is noteworthy; the 3D mesh material hugs your feet gently, allowing you to trek for hours without discomfort. The lightweight nature of the shoe means less strain on your legs, enhancing your overall hiking experience.
Durability is another strong point. Constructed with high-quality materials, the shoe can withstand rigorous outdoor conditions. The protective toe cap and robust outsole ensure longevity, making this footwear a smart investment for frequent hikers.
In terms of traction, the grippy Contagrip outsole shines. Whether you're navigating wet rocks or steep slopes, this shoe provides the grip needed to keep you stable and secure. However, do note that while the shoe performs admirably in varied conditions, it may fall short in colder climates due to its lack of insulation.
Overall, the Salomon Men's X-Render is a fantastic choice for hikers seeking a balance of comfort, agility, and dependable traction. It's versatile enough for both trails and casual outings, proving to be a worthy addition to your hiking gear.

I haven't had these very long, but the initial review of these shoes indicate that they are what you would expect from this shoe maker. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I find the color scheme pleasant and they styling to be modern and and appealing. As for the comfort of the shoe, these feel great on my feet being lightweight and supportive. These are soon to be my daily walkabout shoes since I take my dogs walking 3 times a day. I have every confidence in these shoes so far. I wish I could have sound these with the gore-tex, but I knew these are not waterproof before buying. I was able to get these at a bargain price new so I have zero regrets or complaints. Buy them, your feet will thank you for it.
Design is pleasing to the eyes, they are Comfortable and light
Good fit, comfortable and great value. Only issue is the light grey color and material make it easy to stain/hard to stay clean.
I hike a lot, and I really like the new design and light weight ofthese shoes. They breathe way better, and dry out faster as well. They are not water proof, but they repel light moisture fairly well, and, and they seem to be stain resistant. The traction is great, supersticky, and very good padding. I would say the material is so lax orlight, that the shoes sag a little before you put them on. Then it shapesitself around your foot, and looks very good. The toe and heel areasare well protected. I have no idea how well they last, but based on myprevious experience with Salomon’s, I expect them to wear well. Theinsoles are excellent too. So far, it’s all great…
I am walking the Camino De Santiago in Spain in May (2024). I bought these shoes hoping they would be the fit I need. They are not and I won't be taking them. I have done two all day hikes in these shoes and no bueno. The cut is too sloppy at the top of the shoe which gives them a bit of an unstable feel to me. The soles offers support but, little cushion. The traction is good on the soles. Overall they are not all day on the trail comfortable. In fact, I have cheaper hiking shoes that do a much better job. Salomon apparently offers a trail runner/hiking shoe that does offer the cushion I'm looking for so...
I got these because I walk on uneven surfaces all day. Regular shoes were allowing my ankles to twist. I didn’t want typical construction shoes as I’m not required to wear those. These are super solid and lock my ankle in on all surfaces. On top of that they have held up well in all weather. They feel great on my feet as well.
Had to return. Was really hoping my son would like it, but it as too narrow.
Took forever for Amazon to finally get these for me, but they were on special and I think there was a flood of orders. I love Salomon shoes and these are no exception. Super comfortable and lightwieght right out of the box!
