Salewa, what an outstanding brand! My first purchase was for what appeared to be foolishly overpriced semi-mountain-climbing boots with steel braded cables running around the sides. I had torn up several pairs of high end special-ops combat boots walking on sharp large rocks at my job-site overseas, so decided to go "insane" for an upgrade attempt.Normal combat boots would last me about 3 months before the rubber was floppy in various areas on my boots. Possible 6 months max service life. But the Salewa boot....OMG, a year into walking on the teeth of demons, the boots were still strong and fully serviceable!I purchased a 2nd pair, a little less "mountain-extreme", and I noticed my foot stuck to the floor in a totally balanced and pleasurable way. I've never felt that from any other shoe or boot. And they still held up amazing on those soul-crushing rocks.I've recently purchased the Wildfire2 Approach shoe, just looking for a strong trail hiking shoe....and Salewa sure didn't disappoint AGAIN! Putting them on, then standing....you actually want to get walking, (instead of wanting to get sleeping if putting on New Balance...just saying). True joy with this product, true joy!Size Info - Fits like most other shoes. Don't order larger or smaller.Photo Above - The surviving 2nd boot-pair after several years in warzones. Beside it, the new...best shoes of my life.
Salewa shoes aren’t well known in the US, I only discovered them recently. I’m very picky about shoes and socks, proper fit is critical. I’ve always worn 10.5 shoes in standard width. I wear trail/approach shoes for work, hiking and leisure. I supinate and this style of shoe supports my ankles properly. I’ve worn various Vasque shoes for 20+ years, mostly the Juxt model. After I discovered Salewa I decided to check them out. They have many similar shoes across the product line and I wanted to compare them. There’s only one retailer on my area with limited stock and there’s not much info online comparing the different models. So I ordered a few different models from Amazon. Every model of Salewa shoes I tried are very narrow, I could never get a good fit even going up one full size. The Wildfire Wildfire 2 is a technical shoe. In 10.5 I they way too narrow, I couldn’t even get them on. I returned and got the 11.5. I could squeeze my feet into these, but still way too narrow and were returned. I was impressed with the construction, these appear to be very high quality and have a novel lacing system. The these have a stiff and hard midsole like most hiking shoes and boots. trail shoe. The POMOCA outsole is sticky, and should work well on a trail and rocks.I only wore these a few minutes because of the width, I can’t speak to durability.
This brand has always been a favorite. I’ve taken their shoe all over that world and wore them day in and day out. They hold up great! Use the size guide on their site and you will be doing yourself a favor. I had to drop a size per their guide and they fit perfectly.
The shoe looks great feels great but it squeaks as you walk.
I initially made a mistake and I didn’t realize that these were men’s shoes but it fit my feet really well. My hiking group thought they were very cool and a few lab to get a pair for themselves. The only problem was that the shoelace tip was a bit frayed on delivery.
I wasn’t looking for ballet shoes when ordering this product..the toe box is ridiculously tight. And that’s after skiing yesterday
The shoes fit well and much better than the previous model (even for wider feet). Plus the fact that it's non goretex is perfect for hooter summer days. Definitely recommend
