I bought a pair of Roper hiking boots in 2003 and wore them out. I had been looking for a new pair of Ropers because they are sturdy and comfortable. This pair meets all my expectations and I wear them when I know I’m going to be doing a lot of walking. I did not have to break them which was a plus for me.
I ordered these believing I was ordering wide sizes. When they arrived, there was no indication the pair I received was a wide. However, they do fit, so I kept them. The shoes I had ordered before I had to return because they did NOT fit. Also thought I ordered wides, but were not wides, but a different style. Probably a different store. I have never used this particular style of shoe, but I like it. I have worn them a couple of times, and have had no problems with them. I have weird feet, and usually it takes a while for me to break in shoes. These don't seem to need any major break in period, even though they are well made shoes. I would definitely recommend.
This is a very high quality boot and I would be very happy with them but I ordered a 9 W and got a regular 9. This really frustrates me because I hate messing around with returns. Since I only plan on wearing them for riding I decided to live with them as is.
